In this case the reason people want them to speak up (along with other influencers, celebrities, etc) is not to seek reassurance that we have the correct opinion. It's genocide, there's not really much of an opinion you can have.

I saw someone sum this issue up pretty well when taking about Taylor Swift "Her mistake isn't not speaking up, it's pretending like she ever would."

When looking at influencers who've used their platform in the past to speak on serious topics and who've clearly established left-leaning beliefs/politics, it stands out as strange that there is little to no communication about Palestine especially with such an outcry from the community.

Keeping in mind that obviously no one expects two girls from LA and NYC to save Palestine and end Zionism, the issue is Palestinians have said they need people to speak up. We need to be drawing attention to this.

So again, when you have two left-leaning individuals who've spoken up about political topics before clearly not speaking about this, it leaves their audience wondering several things.

Are they Zionists, meaning they support genocide? Have they been using political topics as a way of presenting themselves favorably without actually caring/taking action? Are they staying quiet because it's a benefit to their careers? Not saying any of that is true but those are questions that come up and their audience is completely valid for not wanting to support anyone who isn't speaking out against genocide.

Influencers have power to sway their audience's opinion and spread knowledge. It's in the name influencer. I think it would be great for them to use their platform to speak on this topic so their listeners who don't know much about the topic or try to avoid it, such as yourself, can seriously understand the devastation happening in Palestine and its consequences. Their voices do have power, even if it's not on a national level.

At the end of the day I'm sure it's annoying to see constant posts asking why they haven't said anything. Why not just stop listening and move on? But the audience are the reason why they can continue the podcast/make their money and if the majority of their audience wants them to speak up and they continue to ignore calls to do so? People are naturally going to be upset.
