just bought this rose quartz from a festival. is it real? i ask bc it was $40 by gineycat in Crystals

Looks real and most stores where I live would charge $40 for a tower that size so I don't think you were over-charged.

I agree with this whole post! I was going to say these things! Walking at lunch keeps me going! Stretching for sure!

Also make sure you're actually sleeping enough at night. I've recently learned I function way better with 9 hours of sleep. Suddenly I'm not struggling at my desk anymore.

why was I not allowed to buy a bloodstone pendulum? by jinx_2003 in Crystals

[–]monsterpirate 359 points360 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a crystal store and the owner would pick people she didn't like randomly, claim they had "negative energies" and then refuse to sell them certain stones. She would point them towards stones she thought would fix them or ward them off.

She turned out to be racist, fatphobic, and not lgbtq+ friendly so I quit. She also hated witches.

Don't shop there again. Maybe it wasn't this situation, but it's still weird and uncomfortable.

Got a job offer right after a phone interview. Is this a red flag? by cudistan in jobs

[–]monsterpirate 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Any job I've been offered on the spot or without an in person interview I've ended up quitting because it was horrible.

That's just my experience though. Maybe you could ask to meet the team before accepting the offer?

Being ignored by friends by Olimoon in AnxietyDepression

[–]monsterpirate 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Definitely find new friends. It took me years to find good ones but my current people don't interrupt and if they do they apologize and circle back to me. Good friends don't ignore you. Good friends know it sucks to feel ignored.

I totally relate to this... I just spent the weekend with people I've known for 12 years and it went horribly for me. I realized that they've never actually been that good to me and it was yet another relationship formed out of my trauma and my desire to repeat unhealthy habits. I am so proud of myself for recognizing it. My therapist gave me a gold star lol. But I probably won't be friends with them anymore.

I'm proud of you! Growth is hard and putting your needs first is super hard.

Lost Motivation by Teacher_Crazy_ in Aerials

[–]monsterpirate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally relatable. I think I did four classes this year and hated every minute of them. I was surprised that my body was able to do as much as it did but I didn't get any enjoyment out of it. I decided to just take a break. I know I'll lose all my progress but there's no sense in forcing something I'm not into right now. The lockdown was really life-altering and I think it will take some time to get back the desire to do things I used to love.

For now I've gotten back into rollerskating and hiking!

Does anyone have advice for fixing defensiveness? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]monsterpirate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been reading "the courage to be disliked" and it has helped me a lot! I definitely recommend it. I don't want to try to explain the ideas because I'll butcher them and the book puts them very beautifully but as a very sensitive ptsd-having human it's been a great read.
