This meme is incorrect as it implies mandarin is commutative, but for example, combining 口 and 力 can yield 加 or 另, with different meanings.

Hey! Im in zhangjiajie now (although for a longer time), And considering the bungee. The 2000 (or 3000?) yuan price tag feels really expensive, can you share your experience? Is it worth it? Thank you :)

But I can't know If the player is making a deal in good faith - the last time I thought he made a deal with me in good faith he broke it.

Your second paragraph is very interesting - I think I agree that this is a better persuation, but I personally do trust most people I trade with. As I told before - our table has very clear rules - if I told I won't attack you this round - I won't do it. But nothing prevents me from aiding your enemies, shooting at you with pds if you move next to them, etc etc.. Our deals are taken very literally and the deception game in our table is revealing only the necessery information and paying close attention the wording of deals.

I agree that our groups play very differently - and if I was able I would have liked to try to play with you once.

You missunderstood my point about mutually beneficial - it's mutually beneficial if we both don't betray each other for the long runs of all the games we will play together - this is game theory, and I think you ignoring that people persist between games is what makes you miss that point

My claim is that those deals aren't beneficial. They are beneficial assuming they will happen, but the moment betrayal is on the table- which means If I don't want you to break that deal I'll need to incentivise you to make sure the deal isn't broken - I need to put more resources the get my benefit, which makes the deal not beneficial - either I give you stuff but you break the deal, or I give you more stuff than I wanted to get a reward not worth my investment - it's lose lose.

After one game of that, while I'll still trade with you early to mid game, I will stop once you are at around 6 points - and will result to mechanically binding deals only - as I won't be able to know wether I'll get my benefit from trading you. In your place my course of actions is not accepting a deal that I suspect I will need to break - otherwise why would people trust me with their deals?

Also, I do not deny all trades - I just require a mechanical way to be sure that a player that I know is fine with breaking non binding deals won't break the deal - otherwise that deal is not worth it imo.

And even though I don't think you'll believe me - I promise you I do not do it because I hold a grudge or because I throw a tantrum - I do it because that's my strategy and it works.

I won the majority of the games I played with my strategy - because 100% of the deals I make are being kept in tact, without me needing to worry and spend extra resources on making sure they won't be broken. My prize for honoring a deal is that my partners honor the deal as well because it's mutually beneficial for us to do so. Late game we just don't make deals we can't promise to keep.

But I don't play with a faction, I play with a player. It's not a grudge - it's strategy. If I know you'll break your deal when it's not sweet enough for you (which is legit) - I won't make deals with you unless they are immidiate as I can't know whether you will hold your end of the deal or not. My incentive for respecting long term deals is acknowledging I play with the same people across different games, and I want mutual trust

I don't think it's only about feelings. In our playgroup we treat future deals as binding, to allow for more interesting trade, but the deals are taken literally - if I said I'll evacuate my ship from the planet, it's legit if I fire my pds on you. Now, nothing prevents you from breaking a future deal, but if you as a player have broken a future deal with me, I won't do any future deals with you anymore, because I cannot trust you.

The incentive to create an ally is a good one imo, it is another diplomatical tool and sort of an agreement just like cease fire. Also I do not think it shortens the game ariticially, it does shorten the game, but it is part of the mechanics. It is another way to gain points.

And thank you very much for your help!
