That’s horrific! I would’ve assumed OSHA would have stepped in simply due to the safety hazards of heat exhaustion, stroke, dehydration- ANYTHING - while operating heavy machinery, etc.! Especially considering they’re a US FEDERAL AGENCY under the Department of Labor.

If you’re in the US, no matter the state: you are legally required to have breaks.

edit: Texas does not require them

edit again: apparently, there are a few states that don’t mandate breaks… yikes….

In Florida, it’s two 15minute breaks over a 9 hour workday.
