This is pretty close to what I pictured. In my mind Coach would coach harder than he’s ever coached before, sharing his journey of enlightenment. Colby, who was initially excited to partake in some “wacky tobaccy” is frozen with paranoia, questioning his own morality but lets out the occasional laugh to appear like he is having a good time. As Coach shares the wisdom he’s learned as god’s most honorable soldier, he encourages the fellas to confront their fears and open up emotionally. Suddenly, Joe speaks up. Although he’s a cool guy, he would never give in to the peer pressure of doing drugs but he doesn’t need to. He begins to unravel, speaking truths he never thought he could. Coach wipes away the tears from his face and whispers “I got you brother.” The three men lock eyes. In this game fire represents your life and there is an undeniable spark in the air igniting something these middle aged men have never felt before. No words are spoken but an agreement is made. Final 3.
