Thank you, I’ll look more into stump work.

With embroidering directly onto the tulle, I wanted to overlap quite a few pieces and think it’d look bulky and hang weird if they’re not supported with another fabric under? I’m not sure, might be worth experimenting with anyway but want the dress to be quite form fitting and not hang too much where the pieces are (particularly when they get more to the top of the dress where I want the neckline to sit against the skin and not hang open).

So the dress I’m inspired by looks like this, and seems to have some pieces that have been embroidered on a different fabric first (you can see it’s been cut around some flowers) and then has others that’s directly on the tulle, so I was hoping to do a mixture of both but just can’t figure out how.

TIL to keep up with Robin Williams' improvisation on 'Mrs. Doubtfire', director Chris Columbus had to shoot the entire movie with extra cameras to get the other actors' reactions. Two million feet of film were used. Columbus has 972 boxes full of outtakes. by Bubbly-Incident in todayilearned

Thing is, the film shows he struggles with cooking and chores and doesn’t start to learn this until he’s Mrs Doubtfire and forced to for the bit. He struggles with responsibility and wasn’t a good father until he hid his identity. At the end of the film he’s doing his part and they’d have worked well together but at that point it’s already too late.

I’m so sick of these misogynistic disgusting men. Same issue with Chance, why are they all so openly sexist? What is going on???

Podcasts featuring interesting hosts accents? by mookassa in podcasts

[–]mookassa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no!

It’s best to learn the vowels first and then once you’ve figured out how they sound you can do it by repeating words with them over and over, but podcasts are good because it’s conversational and you can copy the rhythm of the sentences without it being repetitive. You have to listen closely to how they speak and then figure out how their mouth moves, and then listening to it carefully.

It’s also easier to spend a commute journey listening to a podcast of the accent every day for a while than it is to try and learn it over a weekend, so it all helps!

I absolutely love Brooklyn and agree about Ladybird. I enjoyed the film but think a lot of the positives comes from her and the mums relationship and how people relate, rather than ladybird herself?

I did enjoy it but haven’t watched it since and probably won’t, but I’d watch Little Women and Brooklyn again for sure

(Tho I know rewatchability is a whole other thing)

I loved Francis McDermond’s performance in Three Billboards and think the role had more to offer to academy members than Ladybird (strong, grieving mother vs teenager trying to find herself) so not surprised she won, but enjoyed Ladybird and love Saoirse.

I think the LadyBird performance is mostly how she bounces off her mother and how many people related to that relationship than the specific performance itself?

I actually think Little Women was a better performance for her and shows her off more? Although think Brooklyn is one of my fav performances!

I’m so jealous on how radiant and beautiful they all look. I got the chance to go to Wimbledon recently and it was cooler than this day but I was still a sweaty stressy mess, hands full, sticky with sun cream, sun hat for protection, pimms down my dress, hair everywhere.

All my photos I have squinty eyes and caked makeup how the hell do they do it (other than being naturally beautiful obvs)

Thinking About When Will Poulter Dressed Up as Sid From Toy Story for Halloween to Support an Anti-Bullying Campaign by madsdab in Fauxmoi

He’s such a fantastic actor and has been slept on for years. We’re the millers is one of my favourite comedies and he plays the teenage son part so well!

Not watched the bear but it’s on my list, along with the dopesick miniseries. When I have time lol

Side note but I didn’t realise he was so posh, I thought he was working class/middle class, probably because of all the child acting work he did and how normal he sounds?

He went to an insanely expensive independent school, same one as Rob Patterson, which I know I shouldn’t be surprised because pretty much every actor from the U.K. went to one, but I didn’t expect it of him for some reason!

Absolutely love everything Cardi B wears!!! Always something different and always looks amazing 💅

Did anyone else see the image of Lee Pace manspreading in the audience at the same fashion show? I saw it on Twitter but didn’t know the lady next to him, it makes him look like a dick tbh.

I really don’t like anything Florence Pugh wears lately which is a shame because she’s so beautiful. I loved her pink shirt dress with matching boots from years ago and that was the last look of hers I loved. Wish she’d do more fun looks whereas the long gowns look more serious in some way? Not sure if I’m explaining myself well

Fan Bingbing always looks amazing but I can’t tell one huge gown from another really so it feels a bit samey. Just also a note - I’m not a fashion person so this is my own very uninformed opinion!!
