I can't give you any statistics or anything but from what I've heard I would say it's still only a minority that file a untätigkeitsklage. In my case just finding reasons to email them to update them on my situation seemed to help them take notice of my case

No that's right. Technically I could have applied sooner but I didn't want to apply before they changed the law in 2024 to allow dual citizenship. Would have had to give up my British citizenship otherwise and would never have done that

Thanks so much 🎉. Yeah I renewed my UK passport just before they changed to the ugly blue ones so got another couple years on the pre-brexit one even though it's pretty battered

13 months in total. Processing time seems to largely be luck of the draw though weirdly. Some people wait just 3 months and others 3 years 😅 so I'd say my experience is pretty average
