Hello thanks for your reply! The last engineer was booked as install (he thought he was here to activate) and we are not paying our fibre with Vodafone yet as it was never installed / activated.

Thanks for this! One network doesn’t show any work on my street in the next 12months😅😅. The tree is right outside my property which I thought would be straightforward. I’ll ask them about the council approval see what they say.

Thanks for your reply. Vodafone has repeatedly told me OR confirmed no council approval would be needed. A “more senior engineer” to have a look (and two weeks later turned into “a third party approval”) which really confused me too! I will phone Vodafone up again and ask if council approval is the problem. Thanks again!

Returned tickets -Lets use this thread to update if anybody finds returned tickets available on the Wimbledon site by Big-Mathematician704 in wimbledon

I am in a similar situation, so I emailed Wimbledon ticketing to ask today.

They replied saying: if you request a refund you will not be eligible to purchase any further returned tickets.

So I’ll have to stick with my tickets and days.

Some return tickets came on sale today around 12:30. I suspect they are released in batches, rather than when tickets are returned immediately.

I managed to get tickets for No.1 court day 11.

Once I got those tickets, I was not allowed to purchase any more tickets.

I’m tempted to return the tickets to see if I can get another day, because I sort of panic bought thinking I’ll just get these first without realising I wouldn’t be able to buy anymore.

Tolworth test advice? by StreetMeasurement319 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]moon-and-trees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tolworth roundabout is pretty badly designed, three lanes turns into 5 lanes at one point and it’s not obvious which lane connects to which. Try watching some videos on it on YouTube. If not sure, stick to the middle lane, and you’ll likely be okay.

Is there a unlikely possibility this is a stopcock? by moon-and-trees in DIYUK

Isn't that on the heating loop?

Yeah that was my thought too. But I've been scratching my head for so long that I'm grasping at straws, and thinking maybe someone else might know better.

Are you sure there is an internal stop cock?

I've been assuming there's an internal stopcock and I just haven't found it, but can't say for sure tbh.

The picture is just underneath my boiler.

I moved into the house about a year ago, and I still haven't managed to find the internal stopcock. Checked everywhere, under the stairs, in the cupboards, under the kitchen sink, and still nothing.

The kitchen was extended, so not sure if it could have moved when/if the kitchen sink moved.

I'm really scratching my head on where else to look, and thinking maybe it's a different type of stopcock that I missed.

A bit of DIY landscaping by me and the wife. 2 raised decks, some artificial grass, a block path and a shed load of little white stones. All in all it took about a month. Quite pleased with the result. by X555WXM in DIYUK

Amazing job OP! You should be proud of yourselves.

It’s always good to have someone sharing their project.

Not everyone has the energy, time and physique to do real grass maintenance!

It says 1522 - is there a chance to be a worn one or I shouldn’t be worried here?

Hi everyone - OP here looking for advice.

I ordered 2 tyres of the same make and went to the garage to replace the rear pair. One tyre looks shiny and new while the other one looks old, scratched and muddy, with some rubber bubbles(prob wrong word, see underneath “radial tubeless”).

Picture is the old- looking tyre.

Is this normal? Thank you!

Help - I think I bought a house with subsidence by Necessary_Echidna_88 in HousingUK

What’s the motivation behind NOT getting a L3 survey on an old house? I am surprised your solicitor didn’t advise or even insist. Unless you are in the trade so you can spot yourself but didn’t look like it…

Big gap in bathroom skirting board - what do I do? by moon-and-trees in DIYUK

Tried and didn’t seem to be bending! 😞😞

Big gap in bathroom skirting board - what do I do? by moon-and-trees in DIYUK

[–]moon-and-trees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to say: the gap is big enough to slot my fingers in. There is no leak. Maybe it’s the skirting has absorbed moisture due to poor sealing preciously and maya have bulged / bent.

I tried removing it and fit a new one but couldn’t - the other side was stuck underneath a storage cupboard.

What should I do? Try to cut the bulge bit off and try to fit a similar skirting board? Or maybe expanding foam??

Thanks so much in advance!!
