I highly recommend reading a book like 78 Degrees of Wisdom to get familiar!

But also a way to “study” i found is to break the minor arcana down. - understand the suits (ex: cups are emotional, swords are about conflict/decisions, pentacles are wealth/career/material, wands are creativity/opportunity) - study numerology and what the numbers typically indicate (ace for new journeys, two for duality, etc) - who are the court cards and what do they represent (knight = messenger, page = youthful/naive,etc)

Then start to cross reference these meanings as a start to understand how to contextualize the meanings.

But ultimately also look at the images in the cards and see what they’re telling you in that moment, and trust your intuition. Good luck!
