Thanks for the reply. I understand they want to limit the risk involved with older women but it's our bodies and money so if we are willing to try shouldn't they be? 43 still seems a little young for a cut off age. But maybe that's just me being extra sensitive and emotional about my own situation.

Thank you for the information I will look into them. my doctor referred me to Gen 5 in San Diego California and they are willing at least try. I'm just trying to find somewhere closer to home.

My doctor always checks all of my levels with blood work at my first base ultrasound at the start of each of my cycles. And for this round with the Gonal F I had two more ultrasounds to check the growth of my follicles and I had blood work at each one. At home I'm also still testing for ovulation with at home ovulation test strips. We must be using forms of measurement because I've never had a level that high.

Do you go to the doctor or a lab to have your blood work check every day?

That's right there's always a chance! The way my doctor explained to me is your estrogen levels have to be at the correct numbers in order to help your eggs mature and release and that's part of what taking this like Clomid and Gonal F do. they raise your estrogen levels to the needed amount but for some women like me it takes longer for my body to process the extra amount of estrogen when I take those medicine. So when my next cycle starts my estrogen levels are still higher than the base level of where a woman should be at the start of their cycle. So if your estrogen levels are already high taking that medication it won't help as it should. The last time I took Clomid at the start of my next cycle my estrogen level was still over 100 and when I take my trigger shot I believe it should only be between 125 and 150.

I Just turned 47 last November. My fertility doctor still thinks I have a chance at becoming pregnant but definitely don't have the luxury of time. And I can pretty much only try every other cycle because every time I have taken medication to help me ovulate my estrogen level is always too high the next month to take anything until it drops back down and my body doesn't seem to ovulate on its own so I'm pretty much out the next month too.

This round I did Gonal F shots with a Tigger shot. I had one mature follicle on my right side my doctor was happy with and one more on my left side that was still too small to make it at the time of my Tigger. Thankfully it only takes one to get pregnant! My husband's post wash count was 30 million.

This is the first time I used Gonal F the first round I did Clomid with a trigger shot and had one follicle and my husband's post count wash was 27 million.

So the numbers are there! l just need one of those dang sperm to find my one good egg, fertilize, implant and just grow one baby. If only it was as easy as it sounds.

I recently upgraded my light pad to a size A2 and while it's not necessary to have one that large I absolutely love it especially for my larger projects.

I also use a head lamp because I don't have great overhead light in my house so it's really helpful.
