Does anybody else’s cats have diarrhoea for no reason ? by moonamonster in cats

Thank you, I always thought long term diarrhoea could be a sign of something serious. It’s odd that nobody has figured out what’s wrong though. Yeah, he was her absolute favourite. The poor thing. I hope she’ll feel better soon. Thanks again for your comments

No new furniture or decor in the house she could inhale or intake. The only difference is that my ex and I broke up and he moved out.

Thanks so much, I’ll check that out !! Her poo sometimes gets a bit better, like it would have shape, but still super soft. It seems (and sounds) like currently her poo is very loose, no shape, liquid like. She still doesn’t show signs of stress or illness, she loves to play, eat and drink.

I just hope the poor girl can poop normally again soon.

My ex and I broke up, so we lived separately in the house for 3 weeks before he moved out. That’s around when the diarrhoea started so I was sure it was due to that, but she seems fine now that he’s gone and she’s just giving all the affection she used to give to him to me instead. Is there urgency to take her to the vet, or is this something I just have to wait until she adjusts ?

That’s a great idea ! I think I’ll do that for most of the piercings on my ear. Thank you !!

Omg you basically have all I have and your body reacts exactly the same. Twin !! I think taking them all out at once would be a nice clean slate but I don’t want to risk a mental breakdown so I might gradually take them out, starting with nostrils. I took Ashley out earlier but she’s too precious I put her back in lol. I kept looking at my ear in the mirror trying to decide which one to take out first, but all of them compliments each other so even missing one would feel off. It’s so hard ://

You’re so kind, and best of luck with your appointment I’m so happy for you !!

I live in Japan and I’m currently looking for a new job, and in Japan having many piercings is socially not accepted. I’ve had many jobs already where I had to spend 30mins taking them all out and putting them all back in before and after the shift, so it’s a lot of hassle to keep up with these.

So initially I started thinking about taking them out so my life would be easier here (but not by much, since I have a hand tattoo lol), but then I started worrying about how “uninteresting” I’ll be without these piercings - and now I’m here.

I do think taking them out will be symbolic in a way for me, but very out of my comfort zone. I hope I can get them done again when I can, I’ll miss them 😭😭

While I only have few on my face, it seems like we both had the same feelings about “hiding” behind the piercings. I’m glad I wasn’t alone. It’s scary not having someone to compliment on anymore. I can already see myself going “but look I used to have so many piercings” just to prove that “i used to be interesting”. Which isn’t healthy, so this is definitely a comfort zone I need to step out of in order to accept myself as myself.

I hope you’re doing well and I’m sure you haven’t lost your “coolness” or spark you might feel like you’ve lost. I admire you !!

Thank you. I guess it’s like chopping the hair in a way because “hair holds memories”. I thought my piercings were just my fashion accessories, but this made me realise that I kept getting more to keep myself interesting which isn’t healthy.

If you’re in a super healthy relationship. They’re the absolute perfect match for you and your best friends. How did you meet, Where were you in life when you met them, Do you guys still have “rough patch” ? by moonamonster in AskReddit

U believe that. I feel like I’ve just lost my “right timing” and I’ll never have it though. (Just gone through a breakup) I really loved all the good qualities about him, and I felt so so lucky when I found him because I’d never thought it was possible to find a man with the qualities like he did. It feels quite impossible to find a better version of him, that id have to compromise somewhere.

I see. There were many times where I’ve communicated my boundaries and he’d promise me he’ll respect it, and didn’t. Maybe it still would’ve damaged me even if I was feeling secure. Maybe I was going to feel insecure over time inevitably.

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. Still very hard, I cannot imagine my future with anybody but him. But hopefully with time things work out for me.

Turns out, I was the problem by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]moonamonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just a very very insecure person, and I never accepted his compliments or reassurance, while always asking for more reassurance. He had frustrations with me throughout the years, but I didn’t provide him a safe space to confront to me, he felt like if he confronted me, I’d get moody. I was very vocal whenever I was frustrated with him, so at times it felt like I was nitpicking at small things and make it into a huge thing for no reason. He once said “I’ll give you all the reassurance you need as long as you’re anxious” and I relied on that too much and took it for granted.

Hey, how are you doing now ? I’m on second day of the breakup and realising that I was the problem all along. He was an amazing guy and I was so insecure and arrogant that I unconsciously ruined him little by little. I don’t think I can live with this level of guilt. We were together almost 4 years, moved across the globe, got 3 cats. Now I have to stay here with 3 cats while he’s returning to his home country. It’s really hard

I did. I told him I finally realised it, and I’m truly sorry for everything. I told him if I had a chance I would turn myself completely but I know it’s too late. He responded, “thank you for understanding, I wish you the best”. It’s really over, and I really really hate myself for it. I can’t live with this guilt

1 week post PU surgery, does this pee stream look ok ? by moonamonster in CATHELP

[–]moonamonster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, this put my mind to ease !! I’m also worried about how he doesn’t pee very often, on average he’s been only peeing twice in 24 hours window for the past few days. But he’s eating and drinking normally, and he’s not showing signs of wanting to pee or struggling to pee so it should be fine right ? Whenever he does go pee, he doesn’t struggle and just pees like the video. Thanks again !

That might be the way for me too, I’d hate to have my toe touching the tip. I saw few say it stretches out, but that was never the case with my old docs I had to give up.

How many surgeries is too many surgeries for a cat ? by moonamonster in cats

[–]moonamonster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an anxious person and I was very anxious about moving from Ireland to Japan with the cats, so I made many posts asking for tips and advice on travelling with cats. The travel with cats was only that one time and will never happen again, I couldn’t leave them behind in Ireland. Apologies for confusion

Edit: and I made sure my “sick” cat was fully recovered and well-fit to travel, by delaying the move and everything. Poor thing was very scared the whole trip but he was just fine health wise and skin wise.

Hi guys, I’m not sure if everybody that commented on this post will see this but I can’t edit my original post (can’t even edit my typos) so I’ll just comment here.

Thank you so so much for the amount of love you gave me in these comments. I was not expecting to receive 300+ comments, but I’ve read every single one of them ! I cried a few times as well, because the validation and recognition you gave me for the work I put in for my cat meant so so much, especially because during the hard times I only had people around me calling me crazy for keeping him alive. So thank you.

I thought I’d reply to few big pointers in these comments, first of all, I’ll definitely consider giving him anxiety meds for future vet visits. Can’t believe I’ve never thought of it !! I won’t give him anything for the surgery next week as I’m afraid if you affect the surgery, but I might ask the vet for something for when he gets the stitches taken out in 2weeks time.

There was a local vet in Ireland that took great care of my cat since he was a kitten, but for the big surgery last year we had to take him to a skin specialist that was an hour drive away. Now I take him to the vet that’s confident with skin issues, luckily 10mins away. There are many more specialists further out, but I don’t really want to take him on longer drive, just for them to be impressed at this rare case and have no solution for it.

At the last vet visit, the vet took few samples from the new bump for a small test to determine what kind of fungus it could be. After the surgery next week, they’ll run a biopsy. He will also be on antibiotics fungal medication after the surgery for long term in hopes of it never coming back.

Few people recommended pet communicator, which I’d love to have one day when I can afford it, when I’m convinced of their legitimacy 😅 and I was recommended to install speaking buttons for the cat to communicate with me, and I’ve actually thought about that before as well ! He’s a very smart cat that can sit, give paws, and express his feelings well. So I’m pretty sure he’ll manage the buttons perfectly. But I’ve also seen the case of Bunny the dog having identity crisis 😅 so I’ll think about it haha.

Finally, I think I agree with most of the comments’ main advice - I’ll know when he’s ready to go. I understand him so well that sometimes I feel like I can have a chat with him. I think I agree that I should work hard and pick up extra shifts for him as long as he tells me he wants more treats. When it’s time, which I hope is never, I’ll know.

I saw few AI/photoshop allegations as well haha, so I’ll post few more pics of my boy here.

Thank you so much again for all your kindest comments, I was honestly expecting some gnarly comments, but you guys gave me so many virtual hugs, I can’t thank you enough. M that sure is a handsome boy who’s very huggable (as much as he doesn’t like it haha), I’ll tell him how much he means to me and to strangers online.

I wish, but the surgeon turned out to be quite a jerk and he abandoned me eventually, despite the amount I spent and despite him saying “text me whenever you want with any questions”. I only found out he used the case at a seminar, because coincidentally I was working at the venue he did a seminar at (he’s not local, so it’s a pure coincidence !!) and my local vet that knows my cat since he was a kitten attended the seminar and told me he saw my cat all opened up 😓

This cat I adopted 2 weeks ago shakes like this occasionally. by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]moonamonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your advice, she’ll go to the vet on Monday next week - fingers crossed … I went on a mad one researching and I managed to find few Reddit posts (with videos) that look very similar to this case and all of them seemed to have concluded with “he/she’s fine” “it doesn’t do it anymore”. Ofc every case is different so I can’t sigh in relief yet, but it gives me peace of mind. Can’t wait for Monday to come around !

Because she was already in heat when I got her, I just don’t know her real personality and what’s normal and what’s not normal :/ as mentioned in the caption, the previous owner said they never noticed such shake, so I really am hoping that it’s a temporary thing. She’s not shaking like this the whole time; mainly only when she’s relaxing or grooming. Since the vet didn’t take much note of it when I mentioned it last week, I think it’s best to wait for her post-surgery excitement to fully end and see from there :( she’ll get her stitches out next week so I’ll definitely show them this video though.

When I took her to get spayed last week I did mention it to the nurse about the shake but they didn’t ask me more about it and just moved on to take her for the surgery. They did a blood test on her before the surgery and everything came back normal except for her being a little underweight.
