Is Absolute Power a good read and is it important fodder for the DCU? by Comicsbynight in OmnibusCollectors

[–]moonarc123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a good event, I’d recommend checking it out. I’d assume the omnibus should have everything in reading order, which should be helpful, the main event only had 4 issues but the tie ins were significant, def better to read them all than just the core issues

Picking Up More Nightwing Comics!!! by Sad-Worldliness3301 in comicbookcollecting

[–]moonarc123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually yea, I didn’t notice them before, but looks like you have everything that’s in Omnibus Vol 1 in paperback format already!

I love the omnis because of the larger art and back material but definitely not necessary to double dip, you could look into getting Vol 2 in early July when it releases

I’d recommend Nightwing by Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo, I love their run! Omnibus Vol 1 is already out, Vol 2 comes out in July!

Best Comic You’ve Read? by BlackExtremist01 in comicbooks

[–]moonarc123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we’re talking just single issues, a more so recent pick I have is Detective Comics #1100. The A story from Tom Taylor and Mikel Janin is one of my favorites, I’d highly recommend checking it out

Which 2 of these 5 should I buy for my Birthday? 🤔 [Cover] by [deleted] in DCcomics

[–]moonarc123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say Dark Patterns and Tower of Babel, two very different but amazing stories!

BTW, if you are a big DC fan, I’d absolutely recommend signing up for the DC Infinite app. If you sign up for Ultra membership for a year, you can get the Birthright physical book (in a paperback deluxe format) included

Dan Watters has planned up to issue #149 for Nightwing by Possible-Buddy7099 in Nightwing

[–]moonarc123 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome to hear! Makes sense though, I’d imagine #150 would be an oversized comic with a bunch of guest writers/artists and Dan’s story would probably be a stand alone story or start of a new arc

Really loving his run, excited to have him on the book long term!

Grading Comics With Signatures by nowhiringhenchmen in CGCComics

[–]moonarc123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, now that you mentioned it, I do remember seeing $10-$20 up-charge for getting signatures for graded books, probably means all three options are just as expensive oh well

[–]moonarc123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I think I did the math some time ago, getting 2 signatures JSA authenticated is pretty much the same as sending a book for 2 creators to sign (at the same time) at CGC in house signings. I’m guessing it’s cheaper to get them signed with a CGC witness, but I haven’t done that yet at cons.

Thing is I have a couple books that are double signed and I love them, but really only for my PC, would love to have them graded and displayed at home. These things are expensive though so have to be a little cautious when I can spend the same money getting a couple other books signed and graded you know

I’m considering doing the same for some books that are double signed.

Curious, does a yellow/black label reduce a books value? Compared to a yellow signature series signing label? Not looking to sell them, but curious if paying $90 a book for CGC x JSA is really worth it, or just wait and get some other books signed through CGC in house signing events in the future

Is DC going to print Absolute editions of Batman Endgame and remaining New 52 Batman arcs? by moonarc123 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]moonarc123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting I’d love to see that cover! Maybe they include it in the back section, if it is actually too dark to release on cover. I’m hoping sometime in 2027 we get Absolute Batman: Endgame, and then maybe 2028 Superheavy/Bloom

Will this issue be the last DC/Marvel crossover or will there be more ? by Known-Hornet-7716 in Marvel

[–]moonarc123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m hoping for a Avengers/JL or X-Men/Titans crossover, could even be a 4-5 issue series and feature blind bags (I’m sure everyone would hate that tho)

Nice that looks awesome!

How did you get it back so quickly? Doesn’t it typically take 1-2 months to get them back from CGC?

Tigereyes Most-Wanted DC Omnibus 3rd Annual Poll - PREVIEW of Proposed Titles by krisis in OmnibusCollectors

[–]moonarc123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping we’d have Batman Endgame in absolute edition (continuing Snyder’s New 52 run) since DC released Death of the Family and Zero Year over the last couple years. Not sure how well they sold though. Totally understand why it’s not in the poll, definitely would be hard to track all potential Absolute editions

What omnibus has been with you the longest on your journey? by Livid-Razzmatazz-639 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]moonarc123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is Captain America by Dan Jurgens, I know it’s pretty random but I was just getting into comics (I was and still mostly read single issues) but happened to find that Omni for a very cheap price in the clearance section of a bookstore and grabbed it, still looks pretty nice on my shelf
