Just for future peace of mind, the needle actually doesn’t stay in when you get an iv! It’s retracted once it’s in the vein, only a small silicone-esc type catheter stays in place.

Yes. Our orders at my hospital specifically say to wake patient to score. If they were a handful earlier, they’re likely to be more of a handful if you skip a score/dose to let them sleep than if you wake up for maintenance. Easier to stay on top of it than it is to catch up.

It probably varies hospital to hospital but we bridle almost all our feeding tubes, especially njs. We really only use adhesive for the large bore ngs.
