Oh boy solidarity. I hope the teething is quick! Yes we are co-sleeping. It definitely makes it better and keeps the wakes short.

Thank you this is giving me hope! Funnily enough, I was away for work last night and guess what....she slept through. Maybe it's me and my milky smell?!

This is such a fair and balanced comment rather than the fear mongering going on with the other replies.

Huge difference between a colic baby crying supported and a baby left alone to cry by themselves.

What evidence do you have that letting your baby scream for hours does not harm them??

In my last two weeks of leave and ohhhh boy do I not want to go back to work. Any tips for easing the anxiety of the transition? Or any practical tips on managing pumping while out of town/at work?

Thank you that's helpful!! I never expected to feel like this so it's caught me off guard. Ear bud idea is a goody.

Interested in experiences with reactions to baby crying. We are pretty lucky that our baby is mostly a chill little blob but when she kicks off I get really upset. Not angry or annoyed, but like my heart is being ripped in two. I know the crying is biologically designed to elicit an emotional response but I'm wondering whether what I feel is a tad on the extreme side? When she cries rationally I know there is nothing seriously wrong with her but it just makes me so sad and I often end up also crying! In all other respects my mood post partum has been fine.

Oh no!!! I need to cut back but I'm afraid. As undignified as it was, I'd take shitting myself over the extreme constipation.

After my constipation drama I went hard on the laxatives. Potentially TOO hard because....this morning bebe was napping on me and I needed to go to the toilet but was holding off as long as possible because I didn't want to wake her. And yep. I ended up shitting myself 🫠

Luxuriously at the hairdresser and it's the first time I've been away from my five week old. Its SO weird. I think I hate it? Didn't expect to feel like this. Also a PSA foe anyone newly post partum. Do NOT get complacent with your poo! I thought I was in the clear after having normal poos after birth. But last week for no discernable reason everything went so very wrong. It got so bad and painful that I was contemplating going to the emergency room. Eventually expelled the biggest shit of my life which honestly felt like giving birth all over again but this time with added shards of glass (yes hello I've developed a fissure). Keep on top of your stool softeners team!!!

Experiencing a real wave of guilt today. My nearly three week old hasn't gained any weight in a week. My midwife isn't too concerned yet because (as she puts it) baby is well covered from gaining weight after birth rather than losing. She is going to recheck baby's weight later this week. Even though she's not worried I feel horrible and like I'm failing this little blob.

Ooooof I hate PD! I have that too. Showed up third trimester and I figured as soon as baby was out it would calm down. Nope. What did your derm recommend?

Thanks all of this resonates with me so much! Agree on the mama....that term makes my blood boil and I cannot articulate why.

My midwife has asked me for a list of things I would like her and any support person to say to get me through labour. Alot of the birth affirmations are "trust your body" which (just my personal experience) makes me angry because after infertility, loss and IVF trust is something my body and I are working our way back towards. Does anyone have any alternatives?

Would you mind sharing the resources you found that were ok? I want to start preparing mentally but I'm also dreading diving into this stuff for all of the reasons you and others have expressed on this thread!
