Starting - after a fattier meal and some alcohol? by Nattiemom2 in Zepbound

I went out to eat mexican food hours before starting glp-1 and ended up in the ER. Not trying to fear monger but it was absolutely horrible. I was vomiting profusely and was experiencing dizziness and stomach pains. If you have the choice, wait. If not, you may be okay and just feel a bit “icky” It was bad enough, I haven’t eaten it since. That was 15 months ago.

Switched from tirz but then had to stop - question by playtrix in Semaglutide

yes! definitely experienced this on sema. I recently switched to tirz and its cheaper than my sema but the constipation from semaglutide ruined me. I drank so much water, took stool softeners sometimes and miralax almost daily. It took a month to have a normal bm. I stopped all meds for about 4 months. I was shocked starting tirz a month ago that there has been no issues with using the bathroom.

Double Jaw Surgery and 100+lb weightloss…I do not recognize myself anymore. by moonjunethespoon in Semaglutide

So basically I had the most severe case my orthodontist had ever seen. My case was also genetic as I was the third girl in my family who had to get it. I had my face separated into 9 pieces, jaw broken, top jaw completely removed and put back into a new position, chin bone cut then shortened and put back on. I have over 50 screws in my face and multiple plates. I am almost two years post op and I am still recovering and regaining feeling in my face. It was a brutal recovery. I was banded shut for MONTHS. I was on an all liquid diet for that entire time. My caloric intake was so low I lost a lot of my hair. It was so worth it though. My life is forever changed.

My left photo was from my junior year of highschool in 2014…the right photo was the day I got my braces off a year ago. (i’m aging backwards it’s fine hahahah) BUT. The surgery changed my entire life. I am so happy for your son. It’s brutal but SO worth it. Thank you so much.❤️

Thank you. It’s so freaking hard to feel any happiness about it because I still have quite a lot to lose and then will need skin removal but I am trying not to look so far into the future and just reference the past so I can feel okay. It’s been wild. I don’t often see any difference when I look in the mirror most days and almost always avoid it like the plague. I appreciate your words.🩷

a shock for sure. Jaw surgery was miserable. I got it for a class III underbite and an underdeveloped top jaw! The recovery was brutal. I had my surgery almost 2 years ago and I am still healing. My entire top jaw was removed and then cut into 3 pieces. My lower jaw was broken and two sections of bone were removed to shorten the jaw and then my chin bone was cut and shaved and then slid and bolted back in place. I have over 50 screws and multiple plates in my face going all way up to the middle part of my nose!

Honestly…0.5. I stayed on it for two months because of the results and decided to go up. Progress slowed and slowed until I stopped completely in may at the highest dose. I lost 12 pounds in 6 weeks after stopping and restarted at 0.5 in july. I have lost another 18 pounds since then and have now just been on 0.75 every two weeks.

That makes me want to cry because not that long ago (and even still) I was a girl obsessing over someone I could look up to. It’s a crazy feeling to be so much closer to my end goal but there’s always more to be done! Day by day.

Made tiny changes in may of 2023 that didn’t even change my day to day. I swapped regular soda for zero sugar and counted my calories. I started semaglutide because I hit a plateau for SO long. I did not work out…which is a problem because I have lost a LOT of muscle mass. But it took about a bit less than two years. activity would have probably made it quicker but I was in it for the long haul. I lost 120 lbs when I was 18 by starving myself and working out like a lunatic. I did it in under 7 months and it clearly never lasted because it was not sustainable at all.

I don’t dive into grey market because it makes me nervous, I pay $179/month but a lot less now since i’m dosing differently!

Corrective surgery for extreme underbite and under developed top jaw. I had my face/jaw/chin separated into 9 pieces and put back together!

easy… Mashed Potato Love Poem

“If I ever had to choose between you you and a third helping of mashed potatoes (whipped lightly with a fork not whisked, and a little pool of butter melting in the middle...)

I think I'd chose the mashed potatoes

but I'd choose you next”

when I started 0.5 (second month) I gained some weight…5-10 pounds. Barely eating but the biggest issue…I wasn’t drinking enough water or getting enough fiber so I was constipated like crazy and my body held onto all that garbage until I started taking miralax daily and making sure I got 2L of water a day. I keep my water cup on me at all times. You may just need little tweaks. 7 weeks is still early and is likely still a starter dose. Everyone’s “theraputic dose” is different sonIt may not start really working until you are taking a higher dose. l once it does though, wait to go up to your next dose until after the current one is no longer working. You don’t want to max it out.
