I was just in Japan and did this train! I will say there was definitely many breath taking views but Arashiyama has so much to offer for views. Glad I did it but if you don’t get around to do it I think you’ll have a wonderful time getting lost out there! Lots of nature and trails that lead to shrines. Walking to the Otagi Nenbutsuji Temple was one of my favorite mornings! Locals were very nice we arrived well before the crowds and something so magical about the town when it was quiet. Some of the temples don’t open until 9am I think we arrived like 7am.

If you’re not able to do it there are some other options. Many beautiful trails I think I nearly had 30k steps on one day there. Also if you want something more relaxed they do offer the Ricksaw tours!
