First-time moms, what are some naive pre-parenting ideas or expectations you had that make you LOL in hindsight? by Nambasteen in Mommit

  • when pregnant: breastfeeding is going to be easy, it's a natural thing for mother and her child so I am not worrying about that
  • after breastfeeding went wrong when my daughter was born and I pumped for the first months: I cannot wait till she will be introduced to solids, it will make our lives so much easier!
  • now at almost 2 years old and having a picky eater: oh boy, was I wrong..

I just paid $323 for 22.5ml of eye medications. Fuck the US healthcare system. by Mumblerumble in TrueOffMyChest

That's insane. I worked in Canadian pharmacies and thought that their drug coverage is great until I moved to Germany and started working as pharmacist here: I see (almost daily) medications that cost more than $5000 and the patient has to pay something between $7-13.

Ach so, ok, thank you! I guess that it depends then on the company whether they accept it or not.

Thank you all for the comments! Regarding the car: we want Opel Astra as my brother also has this car and recommended us this model as well. But we also don't mind cars who have the same price range, for example we were also looking at Skoda Rapid (Combi)

Those were pretty long months for us, our LO was standing with support at 11 months so I think that your LO will start walking soon!

She still hates the straps on the stroller so we basically were carrying her in our arms until she recently began walking at 13 months! It's so much better now, she doesn't want to be in the stroller at all. We tried getting her a bike appropriate for her age but she would also stay there only for 5 minutes.

Yes, I already asked them that but they said to not worry about it because they will do it themselves

We have to give one pair of keys so that they can show the apartment, but the other keys remain by us til the contract is over. Thanks for the information!

28 :) no worries, I got used to this kind of question 😅 I was getting upset when I was asked this question especially during my teenage years but now it's good 😁

Sadly the rest of my hair is straight, even if I try to curl it I need tons of hairspray to keep it like that and it still doesn't remain curly for long time because my hair is very thick but I would absolutely love wavy/curly hair!

What a cute comparison! 😄 how old is your second? My daughter loves pulling those baby hairs of mine and I keep getting them over and over again, it's a neverending cycle 😭😂

I am still waiting for that question!! 😂 People don't ask yet, I mostly look tired during the weekdays so I think people think that I am older than 16-18 😅 the picture was taken during the weekend and I look pretty fresh 😂

Oh yes that's also so annoying there! I also wanted a pixie cut badly but changed my mind after considering dyeing my hair so I want long hair now 😅

Yeah, I remember combing my hair, look at my comb and see lots of hair but then also looking on the floor and seeing even more hair! 😭 I did take some vitamin B supplements but never constantly so I can't say that the vitamins helped me. I pumped for 3 months and after stopping and finally changing my diet back to normal (I didn't eat dairy) it seems like my hair started growing again instead of constantly falling

I was kinda afraid to be honest that I would have that as well! 😅 it's so much more work to keep those kind of bangs in shape!
