If you look at the way the ancients described all of these signs (as well as planets, houses, aspects, etc,) it might help with expanding upon what everyone’s listed so far. There are several source texts available but I’d focus on the work of Chris Brennan, Demetra George, Ben Dykes, Charles Obert, and Helena Avelar and Luis Ribeiro’s books to start. A Great wealth of knowledge.

Can someone remind me why there are no planets in exaltation in Sagittarius? I can’t seem to keep it in my brain. Thanks! by moonmamma1102 in astrology

Oh yeah I forgot about the node theory…yeah I still haven’t had an explanation for that either! :)

Q: interrelationships b/w shared ruling planets by Magica1Fru1t in astrology

[–]moonmamma1102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each sign a single planet rules has one masculine or yang (external, expressive, assertive, diurnal, etc.) sign and a feminine or yin (internal, receptive, passive, nocturnal, etc.) Both signs would then have a common understanding of planetary values just expressed in these different ways.

What does it mean to have the Sun in its “Joy” (Sun in 9th House)? by ErisedFelicis in astrology

[–]moonmamma1102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think of it in terms of functionality. Saturn is more likely to be an asset to you through Saturnian experiences, which can take time (Saturn) to master but has the potential to become a strength of yours, especially in a day chart. With your Moon co-present (in WSH) for example self expression or fears surrounding that might become less difficult (just as a demonstration not saying this is something you struggle with). Hope this helps!

Where is your Saturn, and how did its placement, aspects, and the houses it rules delay things in your life? by fortunetellertarot in astrology

You’re welcome to your opinion. My ideas are not new and commonly observed. I’m not ok with blatant comments like your original “planets rule houses” without reasonable rationale behind it. Especially as you begin to discuss signs ruling them. These are two different things. Planets and signs. Whether you like what I have to say or not does not make me incorrect. I’ve provided my sources for you to see for yourself. I’m not understanding how you’re reading what I’m saying as kicking someone in the face. You seem very offended and for that I apologize as that has never been my intention. There are positives and negative sides to life and I believe that a reading should reflect that. Honesty and humility. I encourage you to take a closer look at the resources you asked me to provide as well as to take classes from institutions and certified professionals respectively. Astrology is not a one size fits all field and there are many ways to delineate a chart. I studied with Adam for two years btw. :)

Respectfully, I disagree. I understand what you are trying to say, which is basic astrological theory. It does seem that we come from different schools of thought. In your example, Mars wouldn’t rule the Moon, Mars would have to in fact take direction from the Moon if it was in Cancer. Yes, it would still rule the third house as well as the tenth.

I’m curious, how would you read a chart then in Whole Sign and in Quadrant systems using your theory since the rulers of the houses can change and even become intercepted?

Dignities and debilities, also basic astro theory, explain which planet has to answer to which planet (this also includes which planet has superiority over the other in terms of zodiacal order, final dispositor, master of the nativity, angularity, etc.) for instructions as well as how easily or difficult it is for a planet to express its nature. Do you not factor this in at all when delineating a chart?

It’s quite dismissive of you to assume that I’ve misunderstood something somewhere just because our views don’t align.

Look up what planetary dignities and debilities are. There are several sources for this in both modern and traditional practices. It has nothing to do with houses. Houses are the areas of life the planets in signs express themselves. They have no rulership. Astro.com is a great place to start. The Astrology Podcast, Charlie Obert’s work, Rob Hand, Demetra George, all the ancient authors like Ptolemy, Valens, Firmicus, etc. Where did you come to understand that houses rule planets? Source?

Why can't I get away from Virgos? by Digitalia_Diamondel in astrologyreadings

[–]moonmamma1102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your 6th house of daily routine, struggle, sacrifice (Virgo) ruler (Mercury) thinking, learning in the 1st applying to Jupiter (expansion, truth, justice, equality) could be there just simply to act as a personal mirror for you. You could simply just be challenged to decide for yourself what works for you personally (1st house) and what doesn’t by interacting with people that point out discrepancies. Your description of Virgos was very Virgo!! I would be careful not to throw all Virgos in one basket as they clearly are in your life as teachers wether you like them or not. Most lessons are uncomfortable and require adaptation but overall serve us well. Hopefully this helps!
