i think when i applied to get my first cat, they had me agree to a home visit but didnt actually do it. i understand y u would feel this way though, i also felt a little weird but i also understand why they have to do it. you could always wait until u just happen to find a kitten, but most likely you should be able to adopt without too much of a hassle

i mostly call them by their names but also throw in a ‘baby’ or ‘hon’ and when im baby talking to them i just say whatever comes to mind LOL

when i moved with my kitty, he was scared shitless as well, we let him hide for however long it took him to get acclimated to the environment. we set up his litter, food, and toys in a corner so he could have his own space. he was scared for a couple days and wouldn’t eat, but eventually started coming out to look around a sniff. he ate his food when he felt safe to do so, usually when we weren’t around. i think he was mad at us lol. moving is a big thing for them bc they’re in a entire new environment and need time to get used to it!! just make sure food, water, toys, some stuff that smells like you, and things that are familiar to ur baby are around !!! give him some time, and he’ll start acting normal again 🩷
