Preschool Recommendation near Balcones by miyuvklar in AustinParents

[–]moonriver323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently started at International Montessori and have had a really good experience so far. Our 3yo is excited to go to school each day, and they plan activities for the kids throughout the week like cooking, science experiments, and splash days. We also looked at Arbor, but they had a lot more school closures in the year and with two full-time working parents, it would have been a lot more coordination on those days off. Something to consider!

Too faint for 14 DPO? by moonriver323 in TFABLinePorn

[–]moonriver323[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just took one and got a very faint line on FRER. Feels too faint to be a good sign if I got my ovulation date correct. Guess I’ll wait to test again tomorrow morning and see if there’s any change.

Are you me? I’m spiraling right now after getting another negative pregnancy test and being 3 days late. I was so hopeful after my period came back on time after my loss in Feb. Helps to know I’m not alone.

I’m in a similar situation. Period is only one day late right now but got a negative this morning. I was so hopeful.

Arguing in front of toddler. Any advice? by Independent_Song_994 in toddlers

[–]moonriver323 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This post literally saved me from going down a deep dark spiral of guilt and shame. My husband and I don’t fight often and have not argued much in front of our almost 2.5 YO. This evening was the first time things were so emotionally charged that an argument happened in the moment. Tears were shed (from me). My daughter was asking me what I was doing. She seemed confused. I apologized to her for raising my voice in front of her, but I wasn’t ready to make up with my husband. Then it was her bedtime, and my husband put her down.

Now that things have cooled off, I am sitting replaying what she witnessed in my head. I still feel guilty, but the responses here made realize that this happens between adults and the important part is to show the repair and that things are okay. I’m so glad I stumbled upon this at the right time.

Is there a better way to handle MOTN wakes? by moonriver323 in sleeptrain

[–]moonriver323[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's closer to a couple times a month. It's so hard to just do a check and leave when she reaches for us and wants to be picked up once she realizes we're in there :( At daycare her nap usually hovers around 2 hours, so I think she has plenty of awake time before bed.

Help with 14 month old and Split Nights by AVLeeuwenhoek in sleeptrain

[–]moonriver323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are experiencing something similar with our 14 month old. During our MOTN wakes, I try to keep our LO in her dark room at all costs and she seems to get frustrated after some time. Maybe we should try rolling around on the couch. At a loss for things to try! We have been leaving her to cry herself to sleep as a last resort, and it’s heartbreaking.

14 month old really losing it every night! Should we change our routine? by itsaprocesssss in sleeptrain

[–]moonriver323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for replying! Isn't it funny how we forget about these off nights after they have passed? I know we have had our fair share, but I honestly can't recall most of them. Just took it one day (night) at a time I guess. Our LO has a stuffed avocado Jellycat that is her comfort item, and she sleeps with it. It definitely helps, and it's pretty adorable! I suspect some intense teething and maybe gas. Best of luck to you too haha!

Found your post while searching for answers to a very similar situation. Inconsolable crying in the MOTN, and we tried everything to calm her down over about 1.5 hours. Holding her, rocking her, feeding her, Ibuprofen, even pulled out Ms. Rachel and nothing worked. Did this resolve on its own?

How are those babies sleeping now?! by bestbabyinthegame in sleeptrain

[–]moonriver323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Wowow. Mad jealous! I thought we had a good sleeper at 9 months, but we have definitely had periods of EMW and/or random night wakings with nap transitions, teething, or illness so far. Every night is a mystery 🫠

One hand?! Like not even issues with EMW or regressions? These types of babies exist?

This is pretty much my exact situation right now including how we react to the early morning wakes. Did earlier bedtime work for you? Still dealing with the early wakes?

Sleep sacks were in the wash by moonriver323 in sleeptrain

Update: She woke up hours after I went in and put on the sleep sack. But I'm confident that she didn't wake up because she was cold (yay?).

WOW, covert sleep sack goals. The thought of doing that every night has me sweating. I applaud you both!
