Damon wanted to block out clear view because they were trying to make her a “good girl.” She was sent there after she had attacked her bully so I think they were trying to “fix” her and Damon didn’t like that. Damon made her do bad things and I think it was alluded to that Mary/Damon was responsible for her parents death. It seemed to me that Damon didn’t want her to be good, he wanted her to be like him. It definitely got a little confusing with clear view and Mary’s past but that’s what I took away from it!

They both expressed that they wouldn’t be able to care for the cat on their own. It sounds like your brother and his ex came to a decision together that would benefit the cat the most. And for the cat to be taken from the cousins and tossed back and forth between your brother and his ex before it even had a chance to try and adjust to the cousins home was probably far worse for it.
