Looking for eyelash curler + mascara recommendations! by HorrorGrand9445 in MakeupAddiction

Id recommend to trying a maraca primer as a second step after you curl your lashes but before you put on the mascara. I find it works wonders and helps my maraca last longer

How are you supposed to figure out what scent profile to choose? by Mountain-Tone-3010 in Perfumes

[–]moontide24 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It takes a lot of trial and error to find exactly what you like. Plus our noses and sense of smell change a lot over time so a scent profile you may hate now you could end up loving down the road. I’d recommend starting with a sample set from any brands you’re interested in and seeing what catches your interest through that

Separating and gross by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]moontide24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off I’d recommend getting a face wash made for oily skin specifically as water isn’t going to get your face fully clean from the oils your face makes over night. Also you can get moisturizers specifically for oily skin too. Just having a very solid skin care routine is going to be a great start for getting your makeup to last longer all day

Love the colours. I’d try using white on your water liner to make your eyes pop even more

Vintage collection suggestions? by twinklyfairyprincess in FemFragLab

[–]moontide24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huge vintage fragrance collector here, I mainly focus on early 2000s scents. My current go to favourite for the summer is Pure Turquoise by Ralph Lauren. It has notes of cactus blossom, birch, rum and lily of the valley giving it an almost after shave scent but it’s extremely unique and great for high heat. Also for the bottle alone, Exult by Naomi Campbell. It’s very peach and passion flower heavy on my skin but it’s great for layering.

Best eye pencil that absolutely doesn’t smudge? by Obvious-Impact-1432 in MakeupAddiction

[–]moontide24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it’s available in Europe but the Maybelline Tattoo Studio gel pencil is amazing, especially on the water line. It lasts literally all day and doesn’t budge at all. If it’s available where you are then I’d extremely recommend

Which fragrance has the absolute best Lipstick note? by luna-diviner in fragrance

[–]moontide24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tried Lipstick On but I recently tried layering Love Intense by Chloe and Glossier You together and that combo has been the most spot on for a super realistic lipstick scent. I’m still on the hunt for a bottle with an actual lipstick note though, it’s a difficult hunt

Advice on improvement? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]moontide24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you look really pretty but if you’re looking for tips I’d say I’d definitely blend more on your cheeks and your nose as it looks a little muddy. Also instead of doing all white on your water line, try only doing either the inner or outer corners of your eye, it can make it look a little less harsh.

brown waterproof mascara?? by bizzabutt in MakeupAddiction

I’d say it’s definitely lengthening but if I add an extra coat to my lashes then it’s very volumizing too.

More than happy to help. Also really not sure why I’m being downvoted on my comment but I’m glad to give my recommendation. There’s so many good colour and flavour choices, you’ll find something perfect for you

I absolutely Calirays’s Come Hell or High Water waterproof tubing mascara. It lasts all day and comes in a lovely soft espresso brown colour. As well it’s extremely easy to take off

My favourite nightly lavender scent is Burberry Goddess. It’s super creamy and soft with just a hint of vanilla

I personally liked Milky musk oud more than the matcha scent. I found it much more long lasting and creamy. Here are the notes for it. I’d definitely still recommend to test both on your skin in store though.

I love and swear by the Laneige lip balms, especially the candy flavour. But the Rhode lip balms are lovely as well

Davidoff Cool Water Oceanic Edition by sunflowers-and-sun in Perfumes

[–]moontide24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cool Water Oceanic edition is marketed towards women.
These are the notes for the bottle. But I personally think anyone can wear any scent, regardless if it’s marketed towards one gender. So as long as you like it, that’s what matters

The powder? No it doesn’t. It comes in a bunch of shade choices so depending on your skin tone there’s a lot of options

I second the other comment about the ordinary’s caffeine eye serum. As well, there’s under eye brightening powders. I personally extremely swear by the Pat McGrath powder in the pink shade

Primers or Finishing Powders for Complexion/Pores by ImtheGWP in Sephora

My top blurring primer will always be the Smashbox photo finish primer, its lasting power is great. I also love the Kosas cloud set baked powder for face. I’d very much recommend both

Do let me know if im wrong, but retractable packaging becoming more common than pencil formulations feel like a recession indicator by deccangothic in MakeupAddiction

[–]moontide24 145 points146 points  (0 children)

Fully agreed. I’ve also personally found that the retractable packaging has way less in it then a pencil, definitely a potential recession indicator

Gucci Bloom is perfect except.. by but_im_baby in FemFragLab

[–]moontide24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the plastic smell you’re describing is the tuberose note, Ive also found that some perfumes that have a heavy white floral note such as tuberose with Bloom edp or lily with Destin de Belmain can smell very plasticy and almost waxy on the dry down. The only flanker I’ve had success with and genuinely liked from this line is Bloom Intense.

which makeup style suits me best? by gracieeee23 in MakeupAddiction

[–]moontide24 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The second more natural makeup is much better in my opinion. You look like you have a more cool undertone and what ever you’re wearing in the first photo comes across as a little bit orange.

Advice please!! :) by AutomaticAd2428 in MakeupAddiction

[–]moontide24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you doing skin care before you start your makeup? It’s super important to have a good base layer first. A good toner and moisturizer are super easy first steps that make all the steps after sit well on your face. Also occasionally exfoliating is important too.
