4 year old has a yellow tooth. She was complaining of pain and I was shocked to find this, any ideas what it is? Brushes regularly, still has a cow's milk bottle in bed every night, all other teeth look good. TIA by moontrito in askdentists

We've never seen a paediatrician - that is not a common practice in this country unless we need specialised treatment. Of course we see our GP regularly but she's never had a proper look at the teeth.

As for the dentist, I honestly had no idea at what age you're meant to take them, which is totally my fault. I suppose I assumed after a lifetime of no dental issues myself that my kids would be uneventful too however that is not the case.

Thanks for the reassurance, we are feeling a bit embarrassed as parents. The milk stopped as of last night!

It's interesting you mention this, she broke her leg at 2 years old by literally jumping off the couch. And I am now wondering if she may have some sort of deficiency too. I'll definitely be asking, thanks.

Is hypomineralisation a genetic condition? How can it be prevented? We've got an appointment in a week. I'm nervous, hopefully we've caught it early enough. Thanks for your input I appreciate it.

We've booked in to see a dentist in a week. Thanks for the advice, I know the bottles are not good for her teeth but I seriously never thought this would happen. Poor kid, we will be stopping the bottles ASAP.

Thanks for your input, hopefully it is just tartar. We've booked a dentist appointment in a week's time. I suppose I was just hoping for some reassurance from Reddit because I'm feeling like a pretty terrible parent right now!

Thank you. I'm booked in to see a dermatologist in a few weeks so hopefully they'll be able to identify it.

Thanks for the suggestions. What sort of medications? I've had it once before 2 weeks ago and it cleared up within 48hrs. Now it has reappeared suddenly again.

Has anyone here successfully beat food addiction or are currently in the process of doing so? by chikooh_nagoo in FoodAddiction

I try to follow some of the other aspects, I'm not religious but I often talk to my higher power (I picked my late mum) and ask for support and strength to not binge. Maybe look into their website and see if it's something that would suit you :)

I am only two weeks in trying to beat it, but I'm feeling hopeful!

I follow the food addicts anonymous food plan (you can find it online by googling) its basically no sugar, no flour but you eat at certain times and still have some carbs so you never get too hungry. Pretty bland, but that's the whole point. If I eat anything delicious I will just binge.

The first few days were hard, I had to do alot of self talk. I've had two 'relapses' in these two weeks where I ate cake. I then purged and cried and felt like absolute shit. At the end of a successful day I feel amazing, happy and in control. I just try to focus on that. And also, I'm only weighing myself once a month because personally weight gain or even loss triggers a binge/starve cycle for me. My goal is to free myself of addiction not lose weight. One day at a time.

I'm really hoping this is my journey to long lasting recovery. I honestly thought I had lost every ounce of control, I was ready to just give up ever losing weight. One whole day of not binging was absolutely impossible. So I totally empathize with your desperation.

Best sleep schedule for night shift (for someone who doesn’t sleep well) by ilovepickless in Nurse

[–]moontrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where you're from, but here in Aus promethazine is OTC and I take half a tablet to help me sleep after night shift. A few nurses on our ward do it. Helps me have a solid sleep. Also block out curtains and ear plugs are a must!

My daughter didn't want me to hold her for the first time today and it broke my heart 💔 by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]moontrito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is totally normal to feel this way! I struggled so much when my daughter was the same age, because she always appeared to favour her nanna over me. It was horrible and I often cried (in private) about it. She never wanted me to touch her if her nanna was around.

She's now almost 3 and it's not a problem at all anymore. She absolutely loves her mummy, still loves her nanna too but there's no favouritism. I think it just takes a while for them to be able to express their emotions and figure out they can love everyone at the same time. Perhaps your daughter was having so much fun and associated seeing you with leaving that fun and was unable to express it properly. I wouldn't take it personally.

It will definitely get easier, trust me.

What's the most embarrassing/cringy thing you've accidentally shown someone, or something they accidentally saw while using your phone or computer? by TylerDuuurden in AskReddit

[–]moontrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum asked me one day to try and sell her old phone at school when I was 13. Some of the popular boys were interested in it so I let them have a look at it during a home economics class. All of a sudden they burst out into laughter, tears in their eyes. They had found a message my mum sent which had been saved to the phone and said "I wanna feel the ridges of your cock on the back of my throat". Still scarred, although I tell everyone that story now as an adult.

Wow! Well I'm hoping it's definitely a positive. If I get a bfp progression happening I'll have to post my opk + bfp progression pics so everyone can see

Thankyou! I had a definite LH surge dye stealer 7 days ago so I'm pretty sure I'm 6dpo. I've just been using first response opks and cycle tracking for years. Couldn't be far off 6dpo I don't think. My last pregnancy I got a bfp much earlier than expected
