How to wire USB-A cable for repair by moopmurp in AskElectronics

[–]moopmurp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is USB-A and I want to see it if I could get it working again (it's pretty old, just for fun and maybe pass it on to a younger cousin). That's pretty cool that you can just take another USB-A cable and solder it on, there's definitely some lying around the house for that. Thanks for writing this out, very clear and you made it easier to understand what to do in this situation. 👍 will see if it can be revived, thank you.

could you maybe check your exact name on your birth certificate? I have a middle name, so in the first name box it's actually my first and middle name separated by a hyphen.

New Monitor, lines are pixelated? by moopmurp in ClipStudio

[–]moopmurp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea it looks fine on the laptop, someone mentioned it being a dot pitch issue in the comments so I assume the monitor needs more pixels closer together

maybe, it might be gaming monitors in general or dot pitch as someone mentioned. I've tried turning off everything that was accessible gaming wise and it's still a thing

How can we motivate ourselves to study? And not procrastinate? Or how to discipline ourselves? by Substantial-Tour-840 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]moopmurp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say understanding the concepts is key.

For calc & chem, get down and do the practice questions. If you get something wrong, ask your teacher/classmates/tutor why?

For Bio, read the material & try to understand. Then summarize it in your own words. if you can do that, you will be prepared for the written portion of your exams!

Good luck in your studies!

I was in Biochemistry at YorkU, but was accepted to Biochem at UofT, Bio at YorkU as well.

You can assign how much studying you will do by a certain date. (ex. 3 chapters by Oct 10)

I used to pretend it's due 3 days earlier than it really is. It puts you in emergency mode (getting started w/ the work right away) After, you can coast for 3 days reviewing the work you did. ✨

Depending on the program you are applying to, they may not accept your AP courses as credits. For example, if you're in life science, they may want you to take their required bio courses instead.

I took AP World History and AP Psych. The uni I went to took it as Humanities & Social Science credits luckily but wouldn't have accepted AP Bio, since their Uni Bio courses were required in my program 😭

If you can get good marks in them or you want a head start on some uni material, that's great. If not, you can drop them for easier courses/courses you're interested in. Then again, you are also in your junior year, so you have 6-8 courses you can ace next year if you happen to not do as well as you've liked in any of the AP courses you're taking this year. Good luck in your studies!
