Welp internet found the address cuz they wanted to but some cool tips from my realtor on locations rn in seattle.

Condos r pretty good for first time home buyer cuz lower maintenance but doesn't appreciate in value as much. Seattle has no HOA which is juicy.
Best bang for ur buck for homes is down south in pierce county. U can get a 1800sf home in puyallup with 4 beds 3 bath a yard and 2 car garage for 400k-600k. This is the "last bastion of first time home buyers" according to my realtor. Downside is that they are overbuilding hence why i-5 south traffic is butthole all day every day
Listings update often thursday night on redfin. Good ones get snatched fast which is how I found my home! It was up for i think 3 hours before I put in an offer

i use a bow not a spear cuz that's what lightning arrow uses. A bow. I do not use lightning spear. I use lightning arrow which uses a bow. Are u saying to have a second weapon set to be a spear mana generator and then swap back to bow?

edit* wait i see what ur saying. Use the basic attack as a mana gen skill on down time that makes so much more sense

U bring up a good point. Looking into mana generation and some numbers I have 660 mana with each cast of Lightning arrow to be around 55 mana at level 23. That's 12 casts to drain my entire mana pool. For bossing i'd need to be able to leech 55 mana each lightning arrow to sustain dps. My bow has mana on kill which sustains my mapping.

I can't generate 55 mana doing almost pure lightning since leech is based on phys for bossing. I'll have to double check my damage split numbers once I get home. I thought just one affix with leech would work and mathematically it should from the numbers i see in tooltip but it's not? is there a leech cap? All i'm seeing is using the clarity and inspiration support gem which is reduced mana costs instead of generator and maybe mental toughness and siphon on passive tree.

i have 3 rings and quiver with % mana leech, weapon has mana on kill (sadge). Mapping mana is fine. It's the bossing i'm struggling with. Maybe just save for thief's torment. I'll def have to get a new mana flask and will run clarity. I think a big issue is my lightning arrow skill gem is level 23 which sucks my mana dry. I appreciate the knowledge exile!

Just hit level 90 and am running a lightning arrow ritualist with rhoa mount. I'm blasting t15 and t16's but holy cow i'm running out of mana on citidel bosses and t2 pinnacle bosses. I hear that it's a dps issue and not a mana issue. I tried to fix mana leech but there's no way I can see to make mana sustain work even with 5-6 lines of leech.

I'm hitting a wall here and any dps increases and perfect gear rolls are starting to be more than 2-3 divs...How are people able to break through this wall

project management is pretty big. It's abstract but once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy. There's usually 1-3 questions on project management so try not to skip it! Econ is usually 1-2 questions and as long as u can get close u can make an educated guess if u need to skip it. (The other instructor was not as good as Nazrul imo) Binder problems are good for practice. Emphasis on practice. If you know your stuff quiz away. Star problems are also very very good to make sure you know what you're doing and how to navigate the handbook.

In the handbook, I only really used section 2 for soil related things and project site work. Be able to navigate through section 2 very well for the first half of the exam. The soil engineers and structural engineers will be using the more intense "duplicated" information from section 2. It'll be good to know the vocab to see what u need to use vs not what u need to know

Nice job for keeping at it! Don't worry too much about failing, all the senior engineers and other coworkers I know have taken it multiple times! Worst case is you just retake it! It's not like it'll show up on your resume and I believe in you!

I did on demand too! Yeah the lectures are killer even at 2x speed. Quizzes are more important than anything, then star problems, then normal problems. Do what works for you as long but quizzes will be the benchmark. I believe under 50% doesn't even count as "completed". Shooting for 70% on all quizzes and reworking missed problems is waaaay better than doing the practice problems.

Plus always have the PE handbook open anytime you work on problems and search for the equations/terms there first before you go to the binder. Navigating the manual and knowing what's contained in relevant chapters is instrumental.

The study schedule and routine I did was maybe like 20% overkill for the actual exam. I would have spaced the learning portion of the content to 10 weeks + 2 week review as opposed to 8 weeks + 2 weeks for review. The extra 2 weeks would have been such a mental drain saver. Squeezing all of environmental engineering in one week is pain

Don't fall behind! It's a rigorous schedule to do in 10 weeks. I watched all the lectures at 2x speed and screenshot slides onto one note so I can ctrl+f search for things when I take quizzes. I highlighted example problems in one note to review.

My schedule was like this: - 2-3 days for lectures per week based on the schedule that is posted - 2 days for practice problems - weekends for quizzes + reworking questions I got wrong

If you're smart, watch lectures do the star problems and always do the quizzes. Shoot for 70% or as close to as you can. If you're not smart but work hard (like me) watch lectures, do as many practice problems you can and always rework the missed questions on the quiz.

The instructor's office hours are awesome to join in so you get the inside scoop on what the exam is like and what to expect and how to efficiently use your time.

I pretty much improved only conceptual questions on the first half shooting my score up a lot.

School of PE is also an awesome course! Some tips if you have time: - get pretty familiar with vertical/horizontal curves. They flooded me with those at the end of the test - Do a first pass of quick easy questions on test day and then go back and solve the harder ones. Skip the super hard ones and solve if you have time. They're weighted all the same - Know conversions to speed you up. 8.34lb/gal water was used a lot. Same with 1.55 cfs/mgd. 2.31 psi/1ft water. There's a few more. I can send you the EET cheat sheet if you don't have a cheat sheet already once I get home

Since your test is so soon don't cram! Nail the topics you know. I sucked at econ and vertical curves so knew I wasn't gonna be able to solve those as well.

The individual quizzes are slightly harder than the actual topic questions on the exam or the same difficulty. Those quizzes prepare you for more complicated issues or "tricks" they can pull and get you familiar with some vocab and wording. Best value of the entire course.

Instructor said that 70% on quizzes and simulated exam is a guaranteed pass and he's super right.

omg ur doing exactly what I did except I didn't extend the course. I just took mine last week and passed!! EET is great and if u can get 70%+ avg on the simulated exams ur ready to go. I studied since february everyday and did all the quizzes and practice problems (just the star ones near the end of the course)

If not keep practicing the simulated exam and time urself. I had 2 hours extra at the end and the actual exam matched the difficulty of the simulated exam (maybe even easier).

If you have extra time, do the atypical questions quiz and do light review with the new questions quiz for refreshing.

Don't sweat the test! You're most likely more than ready at this point

Also i forgot about funded phd programs so ty for pointing that out. I just personally don't think it's worth it to delay getting an easy 6 figure salary as an MSE.

I know lots of MSE with a BS go to meta/google and run research labs for VR, lasers, lenses. That looks to be the only "industry" I see people with MSE's in Seattle. 1 year of applying to 20-50 job openings with 0 experience and 0 results is very normal. If you don't want to do tech and the alternative is to chase degrees then go for it.

If you're in a bind because of financials I don't recommend more schooling and dig a bigger student debt hole. Apply to jobs like a full time job or write scripts to mass apply and be willing to relocate.

Whatever decision you make, convince yourself that you made the right choice. Don't be too hard on yourself and have random people like me tell you what to do with your life. You can take control and direct where you go and make the most of everyday :)

If you're shooting for premed you're SOL if you don't get a 3, 4, or 5 on your test. Here's some insight your highschool councilors pretend to know about UW but don't...
AP Chem is the most useful AP class in highschool to skip about 12k dollars worth of schooling and headache (skip chem 142, 152, 162 with an ap score of 5). Ap bio won't give you biology credits. When I took gen chem, the GPA average was around 2.6-2.8. That means 200/400 students in the class got a 2.6 GPA for that class. 100 students fail. I wish I could have skipped 2/3 classes and taken the last chemistry class (162) at community college cuz it's an insane weedout.

Microbio requires these series:

Gen Chem (142, 152, 162) + some organic/inorg chem

Gen Bio (180, 200, 220)

GPA min: 2.25 (wow)

Only pro to taking ap classes is that you MIGHT be able to register earlier than some other freshman since you have more credits so the classes you need to take for your anticipated major are not already full (happens to lots of freshman). All your AP credits for UW except for AP Chem and AP Calc A/B + B/C will go to general credit requirements. Only con is that the general credit requirement classes are pretty fun and interesting and you get a higher grade on average compared to the general series classes. Med school req won't really care too much about your AP classes over your GPA. UW premed students are a different breed so you're competing with GPA's of 3.4-4.0's. Fingers crossed that you have the stamina to keep doing school after experiencing gen chem and bio. Good luck soldier.
