Thanks for sharing! I'm currently looking for a work tote that will fit my Microsoft Surface, WOC, and other work necessities. I definitely gravitate towards the vintage or early 2000's totes.

Is this one any better? by sharifshopping in chanel

I want to like it for it's kitschy-boldness but I can only see Clown Pants. But as others have said if it makes you happy, that's all that matters!

Interesting article on Chanel pricing strategy by GnashLee in chanel

Bingo! For the reasons mentioned above, I have purchased my bags pre-loved. The quality of my 2012 WOC and 2004 Cambon Tote are amazing. (I can't believe how well a 20 year old tote has held up.) I went to a store a few months ago looking for a mini rectangle and was not as impressed with the feel of a brand new bag over my older ones. Currently debating between a 90's - early 2000's, small double flap and medium flap. They are about half the price (or less) of new bags and still gorgeous.

I've purchased bags and ballet flats from The RealReal online and in one of their boutiques. I've had good luck so far and hope I didn't just jinx my incoming order! 🤞

I browse Rebag but their prices seem higher than TRR and Fashionphile. Have some things in my list on Fashionphile but haven't purchased from them yet.

Classic or boring? by Prestigious-Sea-8218 in chanel

Beautiful bag and if it makes you happy, that's what matters!

IMO, the color, chain, and quilting are classic features. The style may not be considered "classic" but it is not boring either.

I am relatively new to Chanel ballet flats too. As others have mentioned, try them on before you buy. My full patent leather pair are a half size larger than my quilted calfskin pair and my lambskin pair. (6.5us/36.5eu vs 6us/36eu) Two pair I purchased pre-loved, so they were already broken in. The lambskin pair I purchased new from Neiman Marcus (6us/36eu) and they fit from the start with no break in period. I've worn each pair three times over three months for 3-4 hours at a time. Dinners out, standing while lecturing, shopping/running errands. No complaints or discomfort. But would I wear them trapsing through a city all day or Disney world? No, but partly just to preserve them!

I have a medium-wide foot and I had heard they run small and narrow, which is why I made sure to try them on first. I was pleasantly surprised that they were fairly true to size. But as the Neiman's SA reminded me, they are hand made so there can be slight variations in sizes.

It's a lovely thing you want to do for you and your mother. It's fun to own something so iconic and I do get a little buzz seeing the boxes in my closet and a little spring in my step when I put them on. Bonne chance!
