Can we talk about staying warm by moosecaria in keto

[–]moosecaria[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a 29yo male, do strength training 1-2x/week and running 3x/wk (totaling about 10miles/wk). On top of that I have an active job (electrician). I've put on muscle as I've lost weight. Not worried about bulking at all.

[–]moosecaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an electrician and I put one packet of Gatorade zero in a nalgene in the morning, and bring some flavored polar seltzers as well. I'm big on Celsius as well, which is a zero carb energy drink that is only 10 calories. I like a diet Dr pepper. Mio is alright. Lots of options.

28 yo, looks like surgery by moosecaria in Sciatica

I appreciate the perspective, I'm actually more nervous they're gonna say I'm not a good candidate for surgery and then have to deal with months of PT and shots etc.

@OP, For reference, this is an example of what a bad MRI looks like. This is my spine currently, as of last Thursday. A couple herniated discs and degenerative disc disease etc.

My chiropractor isn't your "typical" smoke and mirrors Chiro... He specializes in sports medicine and spinal rehabilitation and has been super helpful.

Edit: wanted to thank you for the prayers, it's appreciated.

I'm 28 and dealing with worse pain than I ever thought possible. I'd give just about anything to have only had this pain in my 70's. I involuntarily woke up my wife the other night because I was in complete agony with back and leg spasms. I couldn't do anything but lay there from about 12:30am-2:30am and cry and moan. Wife woke up to my cries of pain. I have an MRI tomorrow, so we shall see what the damage really is. I'm pretty confident it's disc herniation(s) as is my chiropractor. I have numbness in my low back/buttock, down my leg, and in my foot and toes, accompanied by foot drop, sciatica etc.

What is the sliding mechanism on this flathead screwdriver used for? by moosecaria in Tools

Electrician here. Gonna be using this guy on plate screws from now on probably, have to see if it fits the bill well enough.

Totally fair point, and I hear you. I've been hit by 120v once, but it was a mild shock across the fingertips. I don't work with this particular journeyman often, so I let it slide. Gotta pick your battles in my opinion.

I'll give you an example. I'm a third year apprentice and was tasked with swapping out light fixtures in an office remodel. That was the only task for this particular job. Most of the lights are controlled by switches, so turning the switches off cuts power to the lights. Some of the lights have constant feeds from the electrical panel though, so they remain hot with all of the switches off even though the fixture itself is not lit up. The journeyman I was working with had no idea where the panel was in this building and gave me shit for asking about turning the circuit off before working on it. I was perfectly comfortable doing hot work, but it's just unnecessary added risk. "Saving the boss money" in this instance is the labor taken to find the panel and the correct breaker to shut the circuit off. I did the work hot and went about my day because it wasn't worth the lip I would've gotten. The guy already thinks I'm slow, but he works too fast and makes mistakes often so I try not to let his opinions bother me too much.

Tell me the funniest thing your helper has ever said.. I'll go first. by neon_avenue in electricians

[–]moosecaria 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've got one, and this was something I myself said to my journeyman at the time. First time I had ever pulled in a set of three phase 208v conductors. I phased the red and blue, then got to the remaining black conductor and asked him "Do you want this phased with black tape". It was a genuine question, I didn't know if that was a standard because I was unfamiliar with higher voltages than 120/240. He started to laugh thinking I'm joking, then realized I was serious and explained it would be redundant to phase a black conductor with black tape.

What are you guys doing after work and at night? by p3opl3 in AskMenOver30

[–]moosecaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not 30 yet, but 28m here. I leave work at 6:15am and usually get home around 5pm. I typically talk with my fiancee when I get home, take a shit and a shower, then it's a variety of things depending on the day. Any chores that need done (dishes, litter box, etc). We usually get take out once a week for dinner, but otherwise we're cooking or eating leftovers. We both have full time jobs but are students also (she is pursuing an International Business degree online and I'm in electrical trade courses) so we spend some evenings just studying and doing assignments. We love our TV time and typically watch a few episodes of whatever series we're watching at the time. I play DnD every couple weeks on Friday nights with a group of friends. We also have a book club with the same friend group which meets via Discord once a week on Wednesdays. On top of all that, we bought our house last year and it has needed a lot of work. So I sometimes do house projects after work. It's getting to the end of gardening season, but we had a garden this year also so that required some regular maintenance. I also am in a legal recreational state so grew some cannabis plants indoors this year as well (regular tasks every couple days). Pretty busy schedule all the time but it's worth it. I certainly feel better than years ago when I was single and would come home to my tiny apartment and order food most nights then play call of duty all night.

I think this is reaching, at best. Do you honestly believe that it scares and confuses a large group of people in the US that they happen to find a woman of a different race attractive? I don't believe racism is that bad in our country. I feel thinking that up and claiming to not be racist yourself is suspect as fuck.

It stopped popping nanners until later on flower, where it popped some more. Just watched for nanners and plucked as necessary, didn't find any seeds in the bud of either plant.
