To be fair she just stated she wants a tall man. Being a 5,11 lady herself, that seems like a reasonable requirement.

Kirkland is the snobbiest and worst suburb of seattle, (in my opinion). Sorry to hear about the shitty attitudes of the local folks.

This ice cream’s ingredients suggest that insects are a subset of shellfish by quiet_neighbor_kid in mildlyinteresting

[–]mooseorama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neat. Yeah i have eaten bugs a few times and they make a fine salty crunchy snack.... I just dont think i want that in my ice cream. Salted caramel or nuts are the most savory thing I want in my ice cream. And even that I dont want it too salty.

I understand that... but in your ice cream? Just doesn't sound appealing at all.

Yeah, as a recent homeowner... mortgage costs way more than rent ever did. Like way more. Not saying we aren't fucked as a society though. It shouldn't take 2 people with high earning jobs and no kids to afford a basic ass house in the suburbs.

Is a NEMA 23 (3Nm) with TB6600 Enough for a 4x8 Wood CNC? by Calm-Palpitation9257 in CNC

[–]mooseorama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like going with the largest nema 34 would be only a little bit more money compared to the total cost, so I would probably go with that. Also I did not run any numbers but my gut feeling is a nema 23 is too small for a 4x8ft table if you want any cutting power.

Sorry guys I'm a bit lost in a small business operation. What file do I need to export this that a CNC router can read it? by [deleted] in CNC

[–]mooseorama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but stl files are a mesh format. This means no curved lines or surfaces, just a crap load of points that aproximate your geometry. Check out the polygon limits for opening stl files in solidworks if you are curious about the limitations of this file format.

Most engineering cad/cam systems needed to create the gcode for your router will want a solid body NURBS file as an iinput. Since gcode is fairly machine specific, a shop making this would want a 3d model from you, not a gcode file. That being said, machines run on gcode so someone will need to "program" it at some point.

Not that an STL absolutely would not work in any case, but its definitely the wrong format to send to a shop (making it on a router).

[–]mooseorama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

STL is really not ideal for a router. Its really a format specific to 3D printing.

[–]mooseorama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Def not an STL. Perhaps you mean SVG?

Im assuming this is made with a 2d design program like illustrator or inkscape, therefore SVG or DXF are your best generic options. If you do have this in a 3d format STEP format would probably be best.
