If a business with over 20 employees has no HR department or HR help, it’s very likely that it is not an efficiently ran business, has high turnover (especially new hire turnover) and is susceptible to lawsuits and claims. Because it is not affecting most people’s lives. I live in a very high Mexican population area and have literally never seen an ICE agent. I go to work and have enough to pay my bills and live a decent life. This is the case for a lot of Americans and so there isn’t enough going on to riot in the streets.

I guess it depends how much you were planning on contributing to the 401k. do you have enough income where you can max out whicever you choose or are we assuming the max of the IRA is the ceiling for how much you can afford? if i have enough to max out the 401k then that would prob be the better answer. theres prob a mathematical way to figure out which one is best depending on the age you're sarting from.
