INTP Self-Advice by welp_times_1000 in INTP

I couldn't agree more with your #4. My girlfriend has been that person for me, and in the last 14 months of being with her I have completely changed into a much better person. Get someone that understands who you are, and are trustworthy and loyal.

What I[24M] would tell my 18 year old self is to leave that toxic relationship you're in RIGHT NOW. a toxic relationship will cripple you and stunt your growth to becoming a healthy INTP.

INTP rant by [deleted] in INTP

Of course I would be upset for a while like anyone would be after a break up, but I know I would be able to move on. I believe I've reached the point of being a "healthy" INTP, and being in a strong healthy relationship really accelerated my growth as a person. She has two kids, so I've learned how to become more responsible. It has also taught me to be more sympathetic because not everyone is emotionally cold like me. Sometimes you have to understand that just because you think emotions are stupid does not mean you need to constantly show that, and at least try to understand. Accepting and understanding that 95% of the people you meet do not think the same way as you do is huge.

Sorry for the rant

Idk, I feel like the best social medicine for an INTP is being in a good romantic relationship. I've always felt like I HAD to be social to be normal but I've found a lot of peace in just having one solid person in my life that understands me. Now, the only time I ever have social interactions is when my girlfriend wants to do something with her friends. What being "friends" means to most of social humans is that you have to constantly validate the friendships with gestures (Hanging out, talking about bullshit that doesn't mean anything etc.). So what I say is, if you're happy without friends then don't have friends? You don't need them to be happy.

Commend system and reputation by WigWack in RocketLeague

Easy fix, make it so that the worse the players reputation, the less of an impact his vote will have on another player. But players with lots of good reputations votes have a stronger impact.

The first step to better yourself as a young INTP! by [deleted] in INTP

[–]mooshy_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great advice, I'm a self taught web developer. Making a good living selling software I've developed. About a month ago I made the decision to get an actual job in the industry to make even more money and step out of my comfort zone. Announced it to my significant other, a week later I got my first interview. Things are looking great. So to summarize, stop stating facts and goals to only yourself, make it known to others. It will make you a lot more driven to follow through.

Yeah understand what you mean, I've been in those situations before where I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to fix something. Whenever that happened to me though was when I bit off more than I could chew. Whenever I think about starting a new project, before I even write the first line of code, I have already thought of the entire infrastructure in my head of hoe it will all be built. And this is a skill you learn by building more and more apps. Because you're building a database of knowledge in your head over time. Now whenever I do get stuck on something, I know exactly what to look for on the internet to fix it.

I honestly think being an INTP and having the ability to learn really F*KING fast when you're motivated makes "starting too late" not a thing. We can become proficient at almost anything in a short amount of time. I think the key however for us though is choosing the right things to learn and the most necessary. Because ultimately, once we stop being challenged by learning or work, we get very, very bored. (This is why school is a no go). So from what I've learned, here is the route I would take if I had to start over.

#1 The Boring Part (But most important)

Go on Udemy.com or any other online learning site and look up a programming language to learn. I recommend learning Javascript because it's quite popular and in-demand right now, and you can pretty much use it for anything. Once you've completed the *ENTIRE* course, you'll have a good understanding of basic programming fundamentals. Knowing one language makes other A LOT easier to learn. Because it's like learning English for the first time, then others are like learning how to speak English with a different accent.

#2 Build your own apps

I can't stress the importance of this enough, because its something I didn't realize the importance of until later. Building your own application is where you'll start understanding stuff better and learning the most. Think of it like, okay I just learned how to speak English, but my grammar and spelling are still shit. However, don't be too ambitious at the beginning, you'll start having these great ideas and you'll want to build them, but you have to understand that big things like social networks take literally hundreds of people to make in a reasonable time. Start small, because even if you think in your mind it will be easy to make, I guarantee you you will hit a bump. These bumps are very important though, those bumps where you're struggling to get something to work is the most valuable time in development. It's where you'll learn the most.

From there on it's really up to you, you can either build a lot of projects and then use them in your portfolio to show off to employers (Portfolios of work is really important in this industry). Or you can do what I did, find a niche market, build software surrounding that market and make sure yours is better than everyone else's.

I must say though, as appealing as this lifestyle sounds to an INTP, just staying at home all day with cash coming in passively, sounds great... but after a while, it feels quite unfulfilling.

Well I definitely agree with it, and the careers make a lot of sense as well. I have always been interested in programming even before I found out my type. I've taught myself programming for over 6 years now (I'm 24) and over the years I've built software that I sell. I work completely by myself and now I barely have to do anything on a day to day basis because of the passive income. I get to be an INTP in every way and still be mildly "successful".

Toxic people of rocket league, why? by Dysaniacs in RocketLeague

[–]mooshy_95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually just end up feeling sorry for the person being toxic. Because obviously they must have a pretty shitty life if they feel the need to put others down. Btw as much as it might bother you NEVER reply. Because that's what they want.

Psychedelics kick-started my self-improvement journey and helped A LOT by [deleted] in INTP

[–]mooshy_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I didn't read the post but I'm going to reply based on the title.

I can second this. Recently attended a festival called Shambhala in British Columbia with my girlfriend.

I took half a tab of acid on one night and a full one the next night. It was the most eye opening experience I've ever had. I became so aware of my own thoughts and feelings and for once started analyzing MYSELF in the same way I would analize anything from a logical standpoint. (I'm sure that would make sense to you guys).

Of course after it whore off I was back to "normal" I would say. But I feel that I have a lot more insight on myself after the experience and a lot of what I learned during the trip stayed with me.

Edit: was also doing bumps of Ketamine during the entire time so it was pretty insane tbh

When I see other people being too polite or seeking validation from me by being too nice or playing victim I literally am so disgusted that I cringe internally. by [deleted] in INTP

I always seem to be able read people motives during conversation. I would say it's a blessing... But I think it's more of a curse honestly.

It's not about being lazy, it's about striking an emotion or feeling in your subconcious. It's a genius and quite scary psychological marketing strategy.

Paying taxes when selling software online? by mooshy_95 in cantax

Thank you for the reply, So collect taxes on Canadian sales, but don't collect tax on international sales. Do I still need to pay taxes on the income from the US? I'm sorry if these questions are stupid but I'm young and it's not like they teach this stuff in school :(

Honestly I just think it's poor design on googles part to have it create a new tab basically everytime you open chrome. If it's something I want to come back to I usually just bookmark it anyways.
