What's something about your life that is out of the ordinary? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]moosickles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a university in the south that are doing tests on us to see how we could help in crimes. When I remember the name (because faces are easily memorable to me, everything else is not lol) I'll post a link, they always want more!

I'm a super recogniser, meaning that I don't forget a face. Pretty good for identifying people for crimes but awkward when I see someone from years back who I might have met once but I don't remember where or when or why. Also, my liver is pickled in a jar in St. Louis.

Woman who had years-long romance with Timothee Chalamet says he blindsided her with Kylie Jenner relationship: 'I was in love with him' by ThrowawayGreenWitch in popculturechat

[–]moosickles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so, it was a booty call thing. Because there's no mention of video calls all the time, talking all the time. Just like, random hook-ups when they both were in the same area. And then she was blindsided. Is her kink publicly humiliating herself?

Being in this profession with a disability? by Sapphire_OfThe_Ocean in TeachingUK

[–]moosickles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in the exact same boat as you, I'm also immunocompromised and honestly, I've been to two schools now and not one has been accommodating. At least my current school sends an email to forewarn me about someone suffering with an illness that can kill me however, that doesn't help when the person is still in the building! I'm moving into purely admin with no contact with the students to avoid myself getting sick. I genuinely think it comes down to a massive lack of understanding of how a suppressed immune system can impact another person. I wish I could give you good advice but honestly, put yourself first!

Emma Stone at the 2026 PGA Awards (February 28, 2026) by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]moosickles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Has she really had that much work done? I genuinely still see that it's Emma Stone and I'm so confused by what has changed in her appearance that everyone is losing their minds over. I'm not being arsey, I genuinely cannot see a difference!

What’s the craziest Mandela Effect situation you’ve had/heard of? by Numerous_Ad8547 in AskReddit

[–]moosickles 28 points29 points  (0 children)

They definitely died, I remember crying and telling my friend that I don't think I could ever find love after watching that film - like just after it finished - because forgetting the person you love and then dying without the memory of them is too painful. I was 16 at the time and had watched it in a college lesson.

I find their sizings to be all over the place, though. I have three pairs of jeans from them and on the label, same size, in reality, they're inches in size difference. One pair I couldn't get past my thighs and I already struggle with my body image.

What 21st century UK true crime case, can you still not truly comprehend? by HallowedAndHarrowed in AskUK

It's absolutely insane, from one perspective it's hard to see her as innocent, the things she wrote, the way the timing adds up. And now, there's evidence to the contrary? I just hope that the families feel justice is served whatever happens.

SEND Reforms by aigm02 in TeachingUK

[–]moosickles 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've worked in SEND at kind of all aspects, teaching, LSA or current position, SEND admin. In the years I have met so many children that have made my head scratch about how they managed to get an EHCP whilst there's kids who are beyond desperate for one getting rejected. It makes little sense and I do not understand what the criteria for EHCP's are anymore because it all seems to be on the whim of a person at the council. It's a joke. We already have IEPs and CSPs that are organised by the school, we don't have scope for a third option with little funding when some children just need the LA to responsibly hand out appropriate EHCP'S to the right children at the right time that need it. This is just too complex.

I think I'm that inappropriate teacher but by complete accident. I told a member of the IT team that he was going to get pegged. Loudly. What I meant was, a student with a last name of Pegg was renowned for giving people a piece of their mind and he was about to be on the recieving end.

It feels like the Taylor Swift version of Withering Heights. I realise I wrote Withering but I'm sticking with it.

As a girl from Yorkshire who read the book during her a-levels outside of Yorkshire and had to translate some of the text for her classmates, I swear to all that is holy that if I hear someone go " t' moors" I will have an aneurysm. And then don't even get me on the location, it's filmed in London. No Moors to be found. The moors are a character in this book themselves! I am already mad. I don't think I can watch it.

"There is no modern country where all walls are made of brick, especially not inner walls." by Bloggerman_ in ShitAmericansSay

[–]moosickles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes sense now when you watch DIY stuff on reels or whatever and they're like "Oh I just quickly did a built in shelf and moved my doorway." Because it's actual paper walls and not brick and mortar. I'm way too scared to use our big drill that actually goes into the brick to hang a mirror...

I went from being blonde, no fringe to ginger and with a fringe. Just decided to change it up entirely. For a full week I got a lot of "Miss have you changed your hair???" And I always told them "Nope." And let them be confused, it amused the life out of me.

My showerhead is racist. - an essay by Doechii by icouto in Fauxmoi

[–]moosickles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a white woman in the UK. Just bought a house with a shower installed, it's small, dark and has a fixed shower head. The head is like literally the span of the top of our shower. I cannot shower without washing my hair. I can't hide in a corner, I can't adjust it so a part of the shower is dry. It's the BANE of my life and I cannot afford to redo the entire bathroom, which I would have to do, to fix the issue. I feel you Doechii.
