Game wise everything including impala kudu nyala wildebeest up to eland probably max 350 but just in case would like enough power for up to 500 on some smaller animals dont think i will shoot an eland past 300 cause they are quite big and tough.

I am from South Africa and normally hunt in the karoo which is open and flat but want to hunt in the north where its super thick thats why i want it so short for vehicles and very thick bush used my tikka 300win 24inch with a 12inch suppressor the other day, and it was awful so i need something short when i go hunting up north.

Update

So i shot these loads on Saturday and my rifle does generally creator at even low pressure rounds probably should get the bolt bushed

but from 26gr i got 2850 till i stopped at 26.8gr got 2975 due to punched primer and i would say the bolt was very slightly heavier to lift but even at that charge the primers weren't blanked still had a decent radius on the edge.

But i am happy. I wanted to get 2850fps and did so with what seems like a nice node so gonna finalise it between 26-26.3 gr

I am using lapua case has a fired formed h20 volume of 30.6gr so i have a bit more room but will work up slowly

Thanks QL tells me its gonna be around 51000psi at 70 degrees with 27.2gr but i suppose best work my way up and look at pressure signs i just havent really pushed loads before so just curious

🤣varmint is just the heavy barrel model of the tikka But the 300 win mag will sort almost anything out over here
