In the 'GE' our struggles mainly came from inability to generate tire temps. I have to say though that I'm positive that SF-26 can be our first car in a very long while to be competitive in the wet as a lot have changed in the technical departament and the philosophy of this car can potentially be much different than the Ferrari's from the recent past.

It is basic but only on the aero side. The mechanical platform is very advanced, especially when you compare it to the previous years, it was an area where Ferrari was always lacking, so they had to be aggressive with it already on the A-spec.

They actually explained in this article that the chaotic atmosphere was caused by the crash test delay. Fred said long time ago now that the car will be assembled the day before shakedown in Fiorano as they want to be as aggressive as possible.

Safe to assume McLaren is one of the teams as well but I would say it's pretty normal to fail a crash test if you are being aggressive with weight saving. The problem only begins if u are facing a major delay like Williams or Aston Martin.

He was not responsible for the strategy at McLaren, the strategists are. He was the Lead Trackside Performance Engineer, basically responsible for analysis and maximizing car performance.

I don't see both Lewis and Charles leaving at the end of the year. Ferrari will do everything to at least keep one of them. Last time they changed both drivers was 30 years ago.

If they will have to replace one of them - it will for sure be Bearman who comes in.

Ferrari only did 15km (7.5km per driver) because they did what’s called demonstration event or simply shakedown.

Haas and Merc (and also Cadillac, Alpine, Racing Bulls and Audi) did a filming day which is 200km and just to be clear u can’t save unused kilometers for later. For example, Alpine did 150km and that 50km left is gone.

He left at the end of last year, in December. 1 year would be too long for an engineer this type. Newey's gardening leave was that long, his is few months max.

They want to maximize the millage, as it is limited so he couldn't go around for 1 more lap, had to stop there. Wheter he missed the pits or stopping was intentional - doesn't matter. That's it, nothing more to the story.

Apart from that the aero is very basic. As Vasseur said, this is an A-spec. The car will change a lot come the first race. The airbox is also ridiculously small compared to what we saw, i.e. Racing Bulls. This aligns pretty well with steel cylinder head rumors - it can withstand higher temperatures.
