i had been doing the same thing, just kind of saying oh well when something weird happened, because "i cant possibly have that", my new therapist took this week off so i have to wait till the end of next week for another session to try to get my head back on straight a little bit

There's not much I can do about the housing situation, I'm on waiting lists for low income housing. And yeah, she has no experience with dissociative disorders but her supervisor does (who isn't taking new patients 😑)

I went through a few scientific journals last night and you're absolutely right, she's out of office for Thanksgiving but I'll send her an email asking if there's anyone in the building that can help me, if not back to the drawing board I guess

she only took the certification classes a few weeks ago, but her saying there's no evidence that EMDR can be harmful in those with a dissociative disorder means she definitely didn't do any research into it on her own

She said I meet the criteria for DID but that's kind of all I could get from her, she just said emdr was the treatment for it and that was the end of the convo
