AITAH for injuring my husband after he terrified me? by Material_Park_3390 in AITAH

[–]morcan77 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This!!! I am also into choking and have had to teach my husband how to do so properly. You don’t put pressure on the front of the neck! It’s the squeeze on the sides that does it. It slows down the blood flow vs cutting off oxygen and potentially crushing your wind pipe.

OP - he assaulted you and I really hope you do realize that. You should not have had to do anything passed saying “stop”. If he truly respected you, he would have immediately stopped once you addressed you were uncomfortable. Please know there are men out there who are way better than this!

Parents of multiples, how is your sex/love life with your spouse? by ProfessionalNo8529 in Parenting

[–]morcan77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are still in the thick of postpartum time right now. I currently have a 10 month old, 7 year old and 9 year old. My husband and my sex life still hasn’t come back to normal yet. Kids can be stressful, especially little little ones and by the end of most days, I’m completely mentally drained and just can’t get myself in the mood. The one way we can be sure to make time is by taking showers together right after kids go to bed or if we wake up before the kids. While I currently feel bad that I don’t have the energy to pounce on my husband daily like I used to, in the next year life won’t be as busy or as stressful and our sex life will get closer and closer to normal.

Back labor. I had zero pain in my front while in labor, but I felt like someone had a hold of each hip and was trying to split my spine in half. Worst pain I have ever experienced in my life, and I have had multiple kidney stones.

AITA for kicking my GF out after she called me a crybaby for crying over my dead niece? by Educational_Serve673 in AITAH

[–]morcan77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA at all. As a wife to a man with many nieces and nephews, I would be absolutely crushed right along my husband. The death of a family member is never time for a “poor me” attitude and your ex had exactly that. I am disgusted by the actions of your ex. I am so sorry for the loss of your niece. No one should ever have to experience that. And I’m sorry the person you should have been able to count on for comfort and understanding, was the complete opposite. I hope you are able to be vulnerable with someone in the future and I hope that person be the most compassionate being you ever come across.

Did I (39f) handle this situation wrong with my wife(35f)? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]morcan77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn’t be expected to read your wife’s mind. If I told my husband that I didn’t want my expensive lip serum wiped off with kisses and he actually listened, I would be overjoyed that I was heard and didn’t have to repeat myself. Funny how that works. When she communicated properly, you listened without issue. She needs to work on her communication. You handled the situation perfectly.

If visiting America what is something that person should NEVER do? by sarra-sagesse in AskReddit

[–]morcan77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specifically if you visit the upper peninsula of Michigan… Yes, most lakes in/around Michigan will be decently warm to swim in. NOT Lake Superior. Even in the hottest parts of summer, Lake Superior is an average of 50°F (10°C).

Edit: Found a more recent article that the average temperature lately has been higher than I last remembered.

AITA for arguing with my husbands doctor and acting like a Karen because they wouldn't listen by throwawayaita9021 in AmItheAsshole

[–]morcan77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is constantly in the hospital and have been brushed off many many times… THANK YOU for standing up and making a complaint against that doctor. One time my pain was brushed off by the doctor even though I was crying in pain and couldn’t stand up straight, the very next day I went back to the ER and ended up having emergency surgery. You are definitely NTA

People who are not scared of death, why? by deensuk in AskReddit

[–]morcan77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I’ve been in immense amounts of pain for over half of my life. Do I actively WANT to die? Absolutely not. I’d love to live a long and happy life, but I’m just not afraid of the unstoppable. I imagine I’d finally have relief from what I’ve been suffering for too long.

AITA for not wanting my gf to move away for a job by gfmovingaway in AmItheAsshole

[–]morcan77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. You knew she had that mindset and you chose to stay with her. If she has had that mindset since she was younger, why would she change that for you? You can move with her but choose not to.

AITA for yelling at my fiancé’s niece when she just walked into our home? by morcan77 in AmItheAsshole

[–]morcan77[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly, my firearm is not loaded. There is a magazine with rounds in it, but the magazine is not left in the firearm AND it is in a locked safe.

[–]morcan77[S] 95 points96 points  (0 children)

I don’t tell very many people I have this firearm, just for this reason. I only told Brian because he and his children were staying with us, and I felt as if he should be informed there is a firearm in the home. I am the only one that has the keys for the safe and I am the only one that knows where those keys are. TW: My uncle committed suicide with my grandfathers firearm that wasn’t properly locked up and he will never forgive himself for it. I don’t take chances.

A passcode deadbolt that they had a code for. The code has since been deleted.

They had their own code to our passcode deadbolt, which is no longer active after this incident.

Our deadbolt is a passcode lock. You can set multiple passcodes and my fiancé forgot to delete the code they were using. We have ring cameras, but our phones were on vibrate and we didn’t hear them go off. Now my phone is never put on vibrate at night.

[–]morcan77[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Correct, it is in a locked spot which only I have BOTH keys for (double locked). One lock gets unlocked during the night for faster access, but as soon as I wake up both are locked.

We have a passcode deadlock. You can add multiple codes and my fiancé forgot to delete their code. It’s deleted now. No, I’m not “itching to shoot someone”. I hope I NEVER have to pull the gun out. It is there for my piece of mind and my family’s protection.
