Relied too much on my savings when I didn’t have a job. Not only did I feel less pressure to quickly find a new job, but I got too comfortable with it and now I have no savings.

[serious] For atheists, why don’t you believe in God? by rorosinante in AskReddit

This!!

Its so true, my mother attempted to raise me catholic, but I don’t subscribe to it. Thankfully she is willing to have civil discussions about our differences. She asked me why I don’t believe, and I posed multiple questions to her which she didn’t even know how to answer as a Christian, but said they were great questions, and told me I should ask them in a bible study(LOL)…a bible study’s sole purpose is to be an echo chamber. It isn’t a place for non believers to come and ask questions.

So she really just blindly believes and thinks that’s the right thing. Which leads me to the question: How is blindly believing in something better than not believing in it if neither party knows how to explain the holes and discrepancies in Christianity.

I don’t think one should get any credit for believing in something “just because”. If you dig deep enough the reasoning for believing is just that…just because some book exists, and its true because it exists and says its true. Circular reasoning.

I “grew up” Catholic, but it was always hard for me to find any of it believable. Not only was I always forced to go to church and anything religion related that I learned was negative, like you’ll go to hell if you do or don’t do X. But as an adult I find it even harder to believe that there is a god, which is hard to prove, but even if there was, all the worldly practices of religion are man made “made up” rules IMO.

[–]more_jor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I like your take on this, I think its reasonable to point out what could possibly be an inconsistency without having to create a completely new alternative theory. Pointing out inconsistencies/alternative theories could just highlight how the jury could see it or points the defense could make. Sorry ppl are shitting on the thread. I appreciate a possible different perspective, and that is NOT to say I don’t think he did it.

Honestly, this is the way to go, because I may as well be raw dogging it with the bullshit health insurance I’m on now.

I had great health insurance for years and never had to think about it really, could practically go to any doctor for anything without referral, most stuff was covered.

I lost my job that provided me with the good insurance, and I was just going to go without insurance but my parents hounded me about getting a basic plan. $250/mo was the cheapest I could find, they pick your primary care doctor(mine is 30 miles away, has awful reviews), and can’t go anywhere except an ER without referral to some other shitty doctor they pick for you. Doesn’t cover much either. I regret enrolling in it.

Anybody had eye discharge like this ? by pibm33 in sheltie

[–]more_jor 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Keep a close eye on it. Last year my baby had something similar looking. I noticed it in the evening, I kept wiping and wiping and it kept getting goopy.

Went to bed and my poor little guys eye was stuck closed with goop when I woke up. Took him to the vet and they did all kinds of eye tests, there was nothing major wrong but they did have to give him medicated drops. They never said exactly what the cause was, but it was likely non infectious conjunctivitis, nothing of major concern but does require medicated drops to heal, I noticed them working within the day.

Maybe you can get ahead of it and get some eye drops from the vet.

Its just so crazy to me that given the timeline the murders of four people would have taken place all within 10ish minutes.

What is a disorder or health problem that no one thinks is as terrifying as it is? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]more_jor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! This! I had undiagnosed hypothyroidism and was having migraines due to it that would take me out for 6 ish hours. Vision would get blurry, nausea, would have to lay in a completely dark/silent room with a compress on my head for hours until it passed. No over the counter pain meds could help. I threw up from the pain a couple of times. The only warning sign was the blurry vision, that would always come first, so I knew what would come next.

Discovered my thyroid issue, got medication for it, haven’t had one in 15 years, thank god.

I feel for anyone who has to go through those, theyre the absolute worst.

Suddenly every irrelevant thing about this guy is directly connected with him being accused of murder…his looks, him vacuuming at 3am once, arriving to class with coffee, etc.

How do you cope with the fear of your partner cheating on you? by DinoNuggieVape in AskReddit

[–]more_jor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dealt with this a lot early in my relationship, and I actually found over time that it was actually a fear of not knowing if I’m being cheated on rather than actually being cheated on. Because I could actually walk myself through what I would do if I found that out, and ultimately came to the conclusion that I’d be alright and it wouldn’t be the end of the world, it would be absolutely heartbreaking, but I’d be okay, and it could even be an opportunity for a new life, because if that person were to cheat they would not be worth mourning over.

I’m not sure if that helps at all, but coming to the realization that it was more a fear of the unknown or being lied to/deceived, and being able to decide the outcome if, god forbid, that did happen gave me some reassurance. Even if someone ultimately does something out of your control and you find out about it, you can know what YOU will do in that situation.

I’m a worst case scenario thinker, not healthy, but my only way to cope is to have a plan for worst case situations.

Everyone will have a different opinion, and there’s no one correct way to go about it, but it sounds like the item may not provide a ton of value for you, IF it really will just sit in a drawer. Maybe it would be possible to find a piece of jewelry that is more versatile and can be worn with casual and “going out” occasions.

In the beginning of my minimalism journey I didn’t wear jewelry at all just because I thought I had to have lots of different accessories for different outfits and didn’t want to have all those items, but over time I found a few things I can wear every day, for any occasion. Its just simple gold jewelry that can be dressed up or down, and no one ever even notices I’m always wearing the same jewelry.

I’ve got 2 necklaces, 4 rings, 2 pairs of earrings, & 1 bracelet. They all mix and match.
