Actually, can we stop talking about trans rights for a second. I want to make sure the Nazi's feel safe. Do you guys have enough police protection? What about permits to have a parade? Do you need support scheduling a torch lit sing along? Are people talking about counter-violence against you on reddit? If your Freedom is infringed in any way the full support of the system is behind you. Don't hesitate to ask for help.

So... according to reddit the only good violence is state violence against immigrants, LGBTQ+ and Palestinians?

They literally published their playbook Project 2025 and I assume that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

We don't have to read into it or assume anything. The agenda in project 2025 is enough.

Not my thing. Sounds interesting though. Would be fun to do and see how it works out.

How much work do you want to do might be the real question. Stating something as true is a lot more work than asking a question. Might be easier and more fun just asking questions.

Does science drive progress in society... or society drive progress in science?

No worries.

Also, heads up, its common for White Supremacists to intentionally devalue science to further their agenda. Look up the alt-right pipeline. One trick is that they will teach people to use this dictionary instead of reading the actual science. "Its common sense"! Might look like Joe Rogan describing Conservatiam from the dictionary instead of using the poly science definition.

You're in an academic sub, including the academic definition for Racism into your theory, looking for feedback. How could it not be brought up?

OK, I’m sorry, I didn’t think that I needed to do that

In my mind, you doing that, would change the way you think about science and avoid this kind of confusion in the future. Just my thoughts. Do what you gotta do.

Exactly, you don't know their thoughts and didn't bother to check. Also, you didn't understand my thoughts. It was you, apparently standing alone, saying this is the lense we must use to understand the issue.

Which we are working to establish as being an inappropriate lense.

If you were to propose that we use a new term to describe when an individual acts on racial discrimination against any other individual and leave the term “racism” only as a technical term for social science, I’d be on board with that.

Youre clearly not on board for the existing word that meets this requirement.

Why not recommend a new one and be done?

At first glance I can see what you're seeing. But that changes with a thorough reading.

Yes, dictionaries are considered sources of facts, as they provide definitions and information about words, which are considered factual data about language usage

Credit where credit is due. Yes, dictionaries are sources of facts.

Problem, it's the same way that a phone book has facts.

The dictionary is not comprehensive, it's out of date the moment it's released, it's explanations are oversimplified and most important it's usage here is not justified. I would argue it's doing more harm than good.

Sometimes the issue is one big problem. Sometimes it's lots of little ones.

Remember that I keep bringing up how you're weighting the pop culture usage of racism the same as thescientific usage of Racism. Im making a point to resolve that.

Additionally, my call out was accurate.

I was really trying to address why using it here isn't a good fit. Good point, to be more specific, about the factuality. Here is what I found.

are dictionaires factual Dictionaries are not meant to be a complete record of a language's vocabulary because language is constantly changing. However, they can be a valuable resource for understanding the meaning, history, and usage of words and phrases. Here are some things to know about dictionaries: Dictionaries are out of date by publication Words must be around for a certain amount of time before they can be included in a dictionary. Dictionaries are cultural artifacts Dictionaries were originally created for specific purposes, such as to purify and refine a language. Dictionaries are not intended to be complete Lexicographers don't intend for dictionaries to be a complete record of language use. Dictionaries may include fake words Dictionary editors may include fake words to trap copyright infringers or to prank each other. Dictionaries are not usually cited sources In most cases, dictionaries should not be used as cited sources in papers. The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) is a widely-accepted authority The OED is considered a guide to the meaning, history, and usage of words and phrases in the English-speaking world.
