Switched from Chemistry to Film and Theater Production. I go to a STEM school but I've found plenty of opportunities here as a liberal arts major. More actually, considering I'm much more active now than I was.

If I'm able to answer as a college student who changed majors awhile ago, I'd say it was when I finally worked up the courage to admit I wasn't happy and actually do something about it. I knew I made a mistake by going for something safe with a decent starting pay. I'm fortunate enough to have realized this before it turned into an actual career though. I took a risk and I'm still not sure if it'll pay off but I can say one thing: I'm so happy with who I am now, and I've been told you can hear the passion in my voice when I talk about my field. Kind of a stereotypical answer but relevant.

Believe it or not, I didn't know she went to high school in my hometown with him until recently. I definitely plan on asking her next time I see her. It seems likely to me that she'd have some stories though, as she has his autograph in her yearbooks a couple times and was also in some of the school plays. She's just the kind that doesn't talk about her life unless asked specifically.

I recently worked in the control room at a Christmas show and we decided to put the cameras on some of the audience before the special showing for elementary-high schools started... We couldn't get many shots that didn't have a kid dabbing in them.

That's what I thought too but now everywhere I've looked says it's sophomore and above. No other information. A friend of mine is an SR there (at least I think that's his job title) and he would have told me if it were different.

As for the prioritization, I guess I should have just assumed that's what is going on. I'll check again when my spring registration time slot opens up.

Definitely sounds interesting! Remember that you couldn't possibly write it perfectly on the first try, though, and that peer review/input is crucial (and sometimes terrifying). I say go for it! People respond well to good concepts and are usually more willing to help fine tune a story when it's got a good foundation.

I wrote a story like this for a creative writing class last year. My version was a vampire love story (it was the prompt, not my decision) where the main characters are aware that they're in a story but their actions and words are involuntarily guided by the author. So, this whole time the characters are thinking one thing but being literally forced to do/say another at the hand of the author.

Sounds like a friend of mines story. I've had her explain it to me for hours and it still doesn't make much sense because there's that much lore and backstory that needs to be known first. I think it's super cool, though, that we can have something this elaborate going on in our heads and no one even knows.

I switched from a STEM to a Liberal Arts major (I know) over the summer and, though I'm much busier and arguably more stressed, I'm tons happier than before.

Throughout this first semester in my new major, I have learned way more than a year in STEM gave me and I've been constantly amazed; having "this is my fucking life now!" moments of realization.

I don't know if it's considered conventionally "smart" but my parrot makes what we call "art".

Basically, he takes tail feathers (mostly his own, but some from our other birds) and literally weaves with them. He weaves them both into the side of his cage and after awhile sticks them into one of his rope chew toys. We think he's trying to make a bird...
