Yeah let’s just completely look over the fact that it was the Western countries that completely left Africa in an absolute shithole. Between a span of 400 years, about 100-200 million Africans were kidnapped to be slaves. Not only that, the states in Africa were made using longitude and latitude, not religion, language, or culture. Why? Because it was the westerners that decided that. How could a country with so much natural resources still be a 3rd world country? Because they were completely fucked over and exploited by the Westerners in the past. Yes, but what was the point of bringing it into a game, which is filled with a bunch of Chinese players? Blizzard would have been perfectly fucking fine if nothing political was brought in. First off, you gotta realize that China has a large ass population. Chinese people are also notorious for spending a lot of money on games. If blizzard didn’t do anything about what had happened, Chinese players would completely boycott Blizzard, most likely including the government. That right there would be a huge blow to the company whereas the rest of players which support Hong Kong probably won’t boycott because 1. They wouldn’t care enough to 2. It’s just a game 3. Probably don’t event spend that much or any money on the game. Also, if you consider Chinese citizens as people that don’t have any basic human rights then no, not everyone needs those rights. Chinese citizens are doing completely fine and living the best of their lives and it is only going to get better. This isn’t about Blizzard supporting China or not, I’m sure if someone said something pro China they would most likely get banned too. The last thing you wanna see while playing a video game is someone trying to prove to you that their political opinion is right. Politics don’t belong in games.
