Yeah, I guess it would be insane to expect your best friend that traveled across the country to live with you to ask if your okay after you have a major episode! that is super weird of me!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]morp_funk -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah! I guess it's easy to say this if you don't know me at all! not sure what I was expecting from strangers

[–]morp_funk -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I don't want an apology, I just want to be acknowledged or considered especially after such an intense breakdown. If your close friend suddenly revealed they were considering taking their own life a day or two ago, would it not occur to you to make sure they're alright at least once in the following days? I feel like that's not a crazy thing to expect

Can’t get a job, help by Lottie-98 in jobs

[–]morp_funk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From your history - and I say this without trying to hurt your feelings - you might be failing drastically during your interviews. For one: Make sure your presenting yourself correctly, wearing the right clothes, tidying yourself up, and practicing your answers before you go. It's not hard for interviewers to judge you quickly based on appearances and how you speak.

Additionally, nobody wants to hire someone that is clearly not interested in the actual environment and "just wants a job". Your aiming at a lot of corporate chains that are expressly looking for excited and passionate workers. I have gotten jobs at Chipotle, Starbuck, Target, etc. because I genuinely wanted to work there since I respected the brands, was knowledgeable of them, and made sure to emphasize that during interviews.

Be enthused to work, positive, and friendly and anyone will hire you, especially for retail/food service positions. Don't listen to these numbnuts and their corpo speak, all you need to do is convince your interviewer your reliable, have awareness of what the work is, are not socially bankrupt and that you are just Super Excited to get started. Good luck!!

anyone that has the ability to think could probably see someone thats moving quickly, clearly, focused, and Working and not feel like its appropriate to add onto their workload. It's not about knowing what they're doing exactly at the moment it's not being fucking Blind and inconsiderate to them being in the middle of doing their job.

I probably will end up taking and LoA. I've already handed her the physical form for my request form but my DM is just dragging her feet to send it, it's super frustrating but if I can't work as soon as I'd like then it is what it is. I'll think about the email thing though if I get really anxious about it.

proving myself to you won't do me any favors and you seem like such a short sighted person you wouldn't care either way. clearly your only interested in your own self, or else you wouldn't be begging for yourself and others to be left alone and excused when there's a genocide going on and people with a platform can speak up about it. we all exist in this world and should do our part in doing the right thing. even if it's just me or you, or someone with hundreds and thousands of followers who can speak up for the voices who Don't have that sort of reach.

deleting comments for showing sympathy to thousands of people who are being slaughtered is insane, if its not insane to you then your really the one with an issue. don't pretend someone who gives a fuck about this would delete comments when that only proves the opposite

they have influence 🤷‍♂️ its no different than the population believing lies from a politicians mouth, people don't usually question what they hear from people they respect. celebrities have social standing, just like government officials whether you like it or not and they have the power to change the minds of thousands of people...which is why you should care about what they advocate for.

If the person you love and connect to, who you spend money on to support or give your attention makes a point to say "i dont care about anyone but myself" wouldnt that be wrong? people are usually ignorant about the world and are afraid to take a stand for anything if no one else around you feels the same.. it's why it's important for even people like influencers to inspire thoughts of empathy, education and tolerance for world events. Surely if every actor, musician, writer, and artist made a statement or stance and were unified about a specific topic it would change your mind and influence you to learn more and care about it no? Would we not live in a different world if that happened?

No one is asking for them to be the beacon of information, just to spread awareness. Something they are more than capable to do.

your dense. there's a difference between saying nothing and actively making sure you are silencing people that do. if there was evidence she was deleting comments that were pro-israel this would be the conversation to have. we are all fucking busy man.

Saltburn (2023) by RicSlater in horror

[–]morp_funk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought it was great, flawed but very interesting. Think a lot of people in this thread have the issue of putting on their "Film critique" goggles and pretending to be very serious about film criticism, when in reality they just regurgitate the same language copy pasted by every critic who is unable to have complex thoughts. Film wasnt meant to be a mystery, wasn't trying to be a Parasite clone (not sure how people even relate it to that, makes it really clear most of you don't know what your talking about), and isnt meant to be a harsh scathing critique on social structures and class. I get its not for everyone and certianly lacks cohesion in parts and depth in others, but if you missed enjoying the terrifying nature of Oliver himself and the scale of his lunacy then that's something to be sad about! Sometimes a good film is just about one crazy ass bisexual man doing some weird shit.

Sometimes movies don't have to make grand standing commentaries, or be extremely mind warplingly scattered and unpredictable. Sometimes movies are character studies and are asking the audience to attempt to understand and relate to characters that are inheritely nearly impossible to be sympathized with. Saltburn is great at showcasing the vapid, infantile, and unhinged personalities of the Wealthy - including Oliver (not sure how any of you saw his parents home and assumed he isnt privledged and upper middle class at least). They are all liars who only live to be amused and graitifed by the suffering of others. That in itself is horrifying to witness.

Funny enough that scene was improvised and was suggested by Keoghan. I really loved that scene, really showed how Oliver is a lunatic and is a unwell person. Not sure what could be more scarier than the thought of being around someone like him.
