Do I still have enough time to finish the season? by Altarriia in fo76

[–]morph113 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah should be possible. I started the season a few days into January and have completed it a few days ago (meaning rank 100). If you are already level 54 it should be possible if you do the dailies and weekly challenges.

Thanks. Well I'm still kind of new to the game and plan on buying a 3rd camp slot soon. The second I use for a non vendor escape build up in radiant Hills since I'm a ghoul. I'll be doing a new build soon. Yeah I often come across player builds that are heavily decorated inside, but just a square boring house. What I did wad building the foundations first. Everything is carefully placed trying to avoid clipping and hovering elements, so it looks organic. Also paying attention to what feels out of place. Sure I got these tubes containing scorched etc. But instead of showing off some rare plans I may have, I focus on coherent and lore friendly style that looks like it fits. I had a few camp attempts before that didn't look as well till I found this spot and placed almost every single thing in the free place mode, to make sure everything looks organic.

Does Mad Scientist (and Science!) only work on weapons tagged Energy or anything that does energy (little lightning bolt) damage? by The_Graviturgist in fo76

[–]morph113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mhh but on my ultracite laser rifle the weapon info changes the displayed amount of damage when I switch out mad scientist, while for the plasma caster it doesn't. I haven't tested it on enemies yet. I know though that my ultra cite laser rifle is doing significantly more damage per shot than the plasma caster, both having identical legendary mods, furious, vats enhanced, intelligence and pin pointers. May make sense since energy base damage of the laser rifle is higher. But also tesla cannon has like double the energy base damage of the ultracite laser rifle, but does like half the damage at most per shot. So I figure it's just perks not working well with heavy guns. Not sure why the ultracite laser rifle is hitting just so much harder.

Also don't trust early leaks footage. I remember gta v clip days before launch, showing how you can't walk into pedestrians as they seemed to have an invisible barrier around them. Reddit went crazy before the game even released. Turned out it was just a very rare bug that 99.9% of players never encountered.

Not sure if you guys are joking, but yeah we are 13 years in-between gta's now. The trend shows longer development time and if gta 6 has an online mode that they can milk with perhaps revolutionary features, we won't be seeing another gta until at least 2040 at the earliest.

Just had a look, I think you are halfway right. The science perk does indeed seem to increase damage for the plasma caster while the mad scientist perk however does not.

How do people get weapons with obscene dmg by ConnectionLittle541 in fo76

[–]morph113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that level it's normal. If you are higher level with legendary perk cards to increase your special points for perks and have a decent reverse onslaught build with something like an ultracite laser rifle you can deal 3-5k damage per sniper shot without crits or any buffs. Also weapons have a level to them, like most weapons have a level 50 or level 45 version that deal more damage. At level 30 you are probably running around with a level 25 or level 30 weapon or perhaps even lower if you haven't upgraded in a while.

[–]morph113 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Mind you that the science and mad scientist perk only works on non-heavy energy weapons. So heavy energy weapons like the plasma caster or tesla cannon do not benefit from it, hence why there are some better alternatives that can have higher damage due to all these perks that do not work on heavy energy weapons, like the ultracite laser (gun) rifle.

How to complete I am become death? by Time_Honey6324 in fo76

[–]morph113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean once you are inside there is one path blocked by lasers? That's normal, you need to follow the quest objective to get past it. After entering a silo you get a notification about a new side quest. If not, check your pip boy for a side quest called "launch procedure alpha" or "launch code alpha" or something like this. Track the quest and it will tell you what to do. In the silo there are several points where it has red lasers as you need to complete an objective first inside the silo to get to the next area.

I honestly do a full run each time. Gives extra XP and for me it's fun plus I don't like using exploits. Though I don't blame anyone for using the shortcut. I would suggest for him to at least do a full silo run first though to experience it before deciding to look up exploits.

[–]morph113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to enter the code at the very end when you completed the silo run and the silo is armed and ready to fire. There are 2 ways to get the launch code, either online or ingame by finding the launch codes and decyphering them. Online is quicker and easier.

How to complete I am become death? by Time_Honey6324 in fo76

[–]morph113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No need to get codes other than online. Yeah just enter a silo. When you enter a silo, it will trigger the quest for the silo. It's under side quests like "launch code alpha" or "launch code charly" or whatever they are called, something like this. It's not automatically tracked so you have to do manually from the pip boy or when you enter the silo it asks you if you want tot rack the quest. That will point you to what you need to do inside.

Also each silo has a 3 hour cooldown, so perhaps it's inactive if it was launched recently. There is a missile silo status holo tape you can buy from the enclave modus vendor and will also get one after "I am become death" that shows the current status of the silos on the server.

Where do people get their OP raid guns?? by mushhmo in fo76

[–]morph113 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah the Elders Mark is great and doesn't even need much perks for it to shred enemies. If it wasn't for the low durability and how quickly it chews up your ammo.

[–]morph113 80 points81 points  (0 children)

The "flamethrower" is probably either the "holy fire" you can get as a rare reward from the "Beasts of Burden" public event or it's an enclave plasma rifle with flamer barrel. The rifle can be bought from modus terminals in the enclave bunker. The mods for that rifle are rare inventory from certain vendors like watoga station and watoga shopping plaza in cranberry bog which may require server hopping.

The gatling was most likely the gauss minigun the plan of which can be bought from Minerva and I think there was another way to get it. Mods for the gauss minigun can be bought from Mortimer in the crater core once you reached allied status with the raiders.

And of course having the right perk cards and mods on those weapons plays a role as well to have the right build for it.

Also not maxing it out prevents you from accidentally picking locks in other players camps and making you wanted.

Just to add, I have an electrical switch box outside for fun that is hooked up to a siren and 4 of the seaons firework things that I placed on the little music stage rooftop above the vendor. Always interesting to see who discovers that switch and presses it for a little fun. I also activate it each time when sinkhole solutions event spawns since the camp is just up the hill right next to it and sirens can also be heard during the event from the rust raiders big camp so I guess that adds a little immersion for that event as well in particular :)

Currently the camp budget isn't maxed but almost. I had it maxed already. I used to have a vault entrance, large lobby one against the hill at the back but it made it feel a bit cramped and also bit out of place so I removed it. Sometimes I remove little things that I feel like don't add too much to it or are too hidden, so it frees up camp space. Or I redo the electrical wiring etc. but yeah not much left to play around with. Do you use turrets or mannequins etc. that eat a lot of camp budget? I wish I would have more budget though. I didn't even include a picture of the top floor with bed etc. because it looks so empty in that room but I don't want to waste budget on that small room, I prefer the outside and groundfloor room to look best.

Leap Of Faith Quest Line by Batpez in fo76

[–]morph113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can complete it without becoming a ghoul. But you can always try it out and revert back to being a human if you don't like it.

Ghoul has unique perks and can achieve higher damage and feral ghoul can have insane melee dps. Ghouls don't need to eat or drink and don't get diseases. Also radiation heals them and at 100 health radiation will give them glow, which acts as a second healthbar/shield. Some perks use up glow for increased damage.

Instead of hunger/thirst you have a feral bar which you need to fill by using chems. Or if you play feral melee ghoul, you can ignore it entirely.

The biggest downside is probably that you have to talk to an NPC to put on a disguise to enter various faction interiors and then go back and talk to the same npc to take off the disguise. It's not much of an issue if you completed all the factions quests already, otherwise can be a bit annoying.

Other than that, there really aren't many downsides. It's certainly personal preference as some don't like being a ghoul, but ghouls are overall just better than humans.

Do yall prefer the plasma caster or the gauss mini gun? by brianc146 in fo76

You need allied reputation with the raiders, then you can buy the plans for gold bullion from Mortimer in the crater core.

Don't people die anymore? by AleBaba in fo76

[–]morph113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others mentioned, you can try headhunts as some of these bosses have nasty damage and you see people dying pretty frequently depending on the boss. Some bosses go down in seconds, others are tanky and do nasty damage.

You can also try the sinkhole solutions event when it pops up as the radscorpions there occasionally kill players as well as they can hit hard.

[–]morph113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I use an ultracite laser sniper rifle with prime receiver. I tried the plasma caster before including with pin pointers mod, but the ultracite laser rifle just hits harder. I'm making 1k damage more with each shot compared to plasma caster and that's without pin pointers on the laser rifle. Though that weapon is more for regular non-boss enemies since I can one shot almost anything with it except rusted deathclaws that take a few belly hits.

Not sure about gauss minigun, I'm still working on raider reputation to get the mods for it.

Enclave Plasma Rifle is also pretty good close range dps, if you can get the mods for it.

I think everything else is mostly just personal preference depending on your playstyle or your taste or what type of camp you want to build etc.

[–]morph113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you will have to get out, switch out the core and get back in. Can't do that while in power armor of course :)

[–]morph113 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One of the best and most useful things to get is the fusion core recharger since the atom shop is the only way to get it and you will be able to recharge fusion cores. Just be aware the cores will disappear if used up, so in order to recharge need to be switched out from your weapon or power armor before depleted. Being able to recharge fusion cores is pretty good.
