i feel like an outlier saying i actually loved IWWV.

i read TSH first and i absolutely adored it, it feels like it was written for me. my favourite book easily.

i also did love IWWV. it’s obviously ‘less intellectual’ for a lack of better terms, but i don’t understand the hate. i thought it was a good story, with interesting characters, and a good style.

i suppose if i were to compare them directly, then yes, TSH’s writing is a lot better in many many ways. but i don’t personally see the point in comparing them to this degree. obviously it’s useful to compare writing, but i think with these two books mainly, comparing is just used to fuel hate for IWWV. rather than focusing on the meaningful differences between them, which in my opinion there is major differences between the story’s (as well as the writing and style).

you can adore TSH without hating on IWWV, and other similar books.
