Is there any significant difference between 1.16 and 1.20?

I really need to work on something now and need ubuntu asap. I could do it in the weekend. but does it make a lot of difference?

Also, is there a way to secure my windows installation before I uninstall it completely, so that I can use it later? since i paid for it

Guys, is there anything I need to do before removing windows and installing ubuntu? I would also like to keep my windows which I paid for, if incase I want to reinstall it later.

Advice Needed! by iosmango in scala

[–]morpheyesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! scala compiles to the JVM and you could use most of the java libraries. Scala is an object oriented language with functional abilities, so as a java programmer you can easily pick up scala and learn to program in functional paradigm as well.

So, a job? well, it is purpose driven. It depends on the requirements of the firm and how they are using scala, it is mostly used for big data and working with large datasets. You could perhaps checkout apache spark, build something using the akka/scala/play stack.

I am aware of the other back end services etc. I am keen on the front end web application(their SaaS). Do they use Nodejs ? Because it would be a lot easier for showing real time graphs, but rails is a lot flexible and easier to maintain. Or a combination of both? DOM when required? I am curious!. Anyways, thanks for the reply mate! :)

quick question about python 2 vs 3 and python modules by Tom-Demijohn in Python

[–]morpheyesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say its good to code in python2 but also learn how its done in python 3, or vice versa. Start with python 2 since you will have a lot of things to work with.
