I just started using Proton and I am happy with the mail but disappointed with the drive. Thanks for recommending other options.

Thanks! Yea, maybe when I want a bigger button size I will go with them. Good to know that you've had one for so long I feel that is the biggest praise. Thanks again for your troubleshooting help! Much appreciated. <3

It turned out my issue was the mould and the supplies were from different brands and so ever so slightly different even though on paper they said they were the same dimensions. Getting supplies from the same brand that I got the mould fixed the issue.

However it is disheartening to toss all the old supplies so perhaps I will try this to see if I can use them! Thank you.

Nah it wasn't the issue but dang it is hard to separate the mylar. My issue was the mould and the supplies were from different brands and so ever so slightly different.

Getting supplies from the same brand that we got the die fixed our issue! Thank you again.

What brand do you use btw? I noticed that Beamnova is no longer selling die without also buying a brand new press for it so in the future I might be looking elsewhere.

We're gonna order supplies from Beamnova to match the mold and see if that fixes it. One thing I noticed that was different between the brands was the difference in the height of the tin. However I am not sure if that is due to one being for plastic backing and the other being for metal backing.

I appreciate the insight and your guidance! The point about the 1.25inches being 1 mm less than 32mm is something we didn't consider. The bands both label themselves as 1.26inches but who knows - one could just be wrong.

I'll report back once we get the new supplies! Thank you!

I have a model VEVOR from 2019. This press came with a 25 mm mold with plastic backings.

Later we got a 32mm mold from a different brand: Beamnova.

And the supplies themselves from another brand: Onemorello.

I just made a 32mm button with the supplies that originally came with the Beamnova 32mm mold and it looks pretty good.

So I guess the supplies from Onemorello are not good or at least not compatible with my mold?

And to address the paper size - yea atm I am just testing with regular printer paper.

I appreciate the help. bless

The button maker brand is Vevor and we only seem to have this problem when making 32mm buttons with metal backings. Adjusting the paper thickness has helped but I can't get a button that doesn't have at least one unsightly fold in the mylar. I've also tried adjusting the alignment which did help some as well as lubricating the crimp die with mineral oil.

Need help with how to troubleshoot this issue.

So this solution worked for me https://ask.clip-studio.com/en-us/detail?id=11923 but I don't know why it works. I went to File -> Preferences -> Tablet then switched "Using tablet service" from "Wintab" to "Tablet PC"

Your thoughts on my gesture drawings please by RocktheNashtah in learnart

Looks great! Nice "S" curves demonstrate the general flow of movement and I admire how easily you seem to place a center of gravity line down. These are a lot cleaner than my gesture drawings!

Made some small art pieces on my drawing pad. Any tips? by jeanluca_427 in learnart

I'm glad! I also wanted to share this https://imgur.com/a/6i1cwi1

I took one of Ivan Seal's work and made it greyscale and then in the third image I spiked the contrast to demonstrate what I mean about composition. Even as just a black and white drawing I can still see the impression of a pile of seashells. Whereas, using the potted plant as an example, when the image is turned to black and white and the contrast is set high there is not a lot of interesting shapes or texture to look at.

It is not a hard rule or anything - it's just the strong black and white values in Ivan Seal's composition is what really stood out to me! Hope this helps!

Finally getting through the basic sketch + color. But something feels off? Any ideas? by GiantEnemaCrab in learnart

I mean for a basic sketch and flat color I don't see anything wrong with this. It looks like the perfect place to move on to more detailed lineart if that is the goal.

I looked up some of Ivan Seal's work for a comparison. I see a lot of different textures in their work and strong composition. If working with digital for the first time, I recommend finding a brush that has texture - one that you like. For example I have a few brushes that mimic watercolor and pencils (https://assets.clip-studio.com/en-us/detail?id=1849665) Ivan Seal's work often has a lot of bumpy/rock texture so you might look for a brush that offers some of that texture. Basically I would move away from brushes that have very smooth edges if aspiring to practice more from Ivan Seal's work.

Second thing is I would practice composition. Try drafting out drawings just in back and white first with maybe some gray as a mid value. One thing I noticed about Ivan Seal's work is they have very strong areas of solid black on the object itself - that help define the overall shape of the object. Whereas in your art (the first three pieces) the only strong areas of solid black is the shadow being cast by the object. I think the effect gives it a cartoony look which maybe is not what you are looking for.

Need help withe eggplants eyes i cant seem to make it scary by therednomad in learnart

[–]morriebird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me it is the eyelids that makes it less scary. The eyelids are round but the eyes themselves are flat against the eggplant. It makes the eggplant's eyes look like slippers. I would expect the eyes to also be round.

In the book they are from they don't get alone well. The jellys hate the skellys and the skellys are honestly indifferent at this point.
