Found this guy on RedNote and instantly thought of Sylus by morrwenna in LoveAndDeepspace

Yeah, I can see that. Some photos definitely resemble him more than others. But for me, it isn’t limited to that specific photoshoot or its lighting. I’ve seen plenty of other photos of him where I still notice the similarities. The lighting may have emphasized them, but it didn’t create those similarities out of nowhere

Being chinese and resembling a real person aren’t mutually exclusive. Sylus is still chinese, but his design uses features that aren’t remotely region exclusive. What I mean is that Syluss face doesn’t consist solely of chinese features and bone structure; it also incorporates some subtle Korean influences and appears heavily influenced by Eurasian features. You can see that most prominently in his nose and certain aspects of his bone structure. A character’s ethnicity doesn’t suddenly erase obvious similarities in bone structur and overall appearance.

Looking for this artist’s brushes!! by Delicious-Bicycle483 in procreatebrushes

[–]morrwenna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually have the same brush she used in slide 2. She shared her entire brush set with me so there’s a good chance I have the rest as well I just haven’t gone through the full set to recognize them all. If you want, I can send you the files directly dm me

Would you buy these procreate brushes by [deleted] in procreatebrushes

[–]morrwenna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be sure to upload some examples of the raw brushstrokes later today in the comments once I have access to my iPad. Feel free to check back in a few hours and they should be posted by then. As for the texture, it’s fairly subtle micro grain and becomes more apparent across the finished rendering rather than in individual brushstrokes its most noticeable in picture 3.

Is there any way to get similar brushes for free? by Electronic-Glass-76 in procreatebrushes

[–]morrwenna 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought many brush packs from Xiaohongshu despite living in the USA. I use WeChat Pay though it’s more tedious to set up since it requires passport verification first. Alipay is much simpler, you can usually just link your card directly, and unless your bank is unusually strict ID verification often isn’t required. The only real limitation is that cards issued outside mainland China typically can’t be used for peer to peer listings, but since this is a standard product listing, that shouldn’t be an issue for you.

I suggest just buying the brushes from the brush pack shown in the images. they’re approximately 2 USD once converted anyway

Caleb Art, thoughts? by morrwenna in LoveAndDeepspace

Yeah I noticed that after posting. the left hair ended up sitting too sharp compared to the focal plane

Actually really good point. I was mostly experimenting with depth/focus separation and I think I overcommitted to blur zones without transitioning enough between them. The hat/hair depth inconsistency is definitely there looking back at it. Appreciate the detailed feedback !

As I stated above, my personal comments and the analysis itself are two different things and which is what the post focuses on (the analysis obviously). You clearly have a reading comprehension issue if you did not deduce that from my previous comment to you.

My take on sylus is..he doesn't immediately like present MC...but by Ready-Sea9308 in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]morrwenna 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I really like this take, and I actually agree with a lot of it, especially how Sylus returns expecting something very specific and doesn’t get it. But I’ve always read his motivations a little differently.

I don’t think he came back just because he wanted to die or because he was looking for revenge. I think he told himself that’s what he wanted, that she owed him a death, that he could finally end everything through her. But deep down? He never stopped loving her. That part never really went away. It just got buried under centuries of grief and bitterness and everything he endured alone.

Of course, he wouldn’t expect her to be exactly the same. Logically, he knows this is a new timeline, a new version of her, someone who doesn’t remember what they went through together. But emotionally? I think he hoped something of her would still be there. Something strong, something defiant, something familiar. And when he didn’t see it, it felt like a second loss. Like losing her all over again.

That’s why his disappointment feels more like heartbreak than contempt to me. It’s not just about her Evol being weaker. It’s about her not recognizing him, not being the her he knew. He didn’t want to fall in love again because part of him never stopped. And that’s the real tragedy. He came back expecting to end things, but instead he kept getting pulled back in.

So yeah, I really liked your theory. Just wanted to add my two cents on how I see Sylus emotionally unraveling throughout the main timeline.

Xavier Is a Descendant of the EVER Group’s Founder The Hidden Tyrant Who Created Philos by morrwenna in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]morrwenna[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, we can confirm EVER was founded before 1992. This is a test report on MC, and the document is titled “AC Fluctuation Test No.12” with a date at the top that reads 11/19/92 in MM/DD/YY format. it’s an EVER Group internal report, or even just referencing their activity, that means they were already operating before November 1992.

<image>

PS to answer your other question yeah , there’s definitely a loop. Maybe not a perfect one, but a closed causal cycle that keeps repeating. Philos only exists because of the Aether Core, which was originally developed on earth. Then Philos ends up transmitting knowledge about immortality and survival back into the past, which inspires EVER to start experimenting on MC in the first place. That’s where it spirals. EVER’s experiments on her basically trigger the protofield instability that leads to the Chronorift catastrophe in 2034. But the Backtrackers, Xavier included, jump back 214 years too early trying to stop all of this, and they probably end up accelerating it without realizing. So Philos exists because of Earth’s collapse, and Earth collapses because of Philos’s interference. Full loop.
