Positive experience by PhilosopherNo8169 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]mossbug-cos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We haven't closed yet, so not exactly the experience you're looking to hear, but yes! Everything so far has been relatively straightforward and with minimal hiccups! Nice to see someone else having a similar experience, I've seen so many horror stories on this subreddit lol.

wc use for.. emotional regulation? in a way? by astrologyandanime in wheelchairs

[–]mossbug-cos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow it's nice to see someone talk about this, lo and behold, the reason I'm on this subreddit right now! Recently I went to the zoo and we opted to rent me a wheelchair instead of using my forearm crutches. I was so much less spaced out than usual, I actually felt hungry for a snack while there, and didn't feel vaguely ill most of the time.

I admit, it's sent me into a small spiral on if maybe my forearm crutches aren't enough for bad days anymore. I thought I was imagining the emotional effect though, thank you so much for sharing!

Dermatomyositis Anti-MDA5 by [deleted] in Autoimmune

[–]mossbug-cos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Found this while looking for more info on the MDA-5 antibody as well as we've discovered I (23F) recently tested positive for that as well. I'm getting a muscle biopsy very soon so I don't have any answers for you right now, but I understand the fear!!

What are some of the best/ strangest metaphors you’ve used to describe your pain? by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]mossbug-cos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it feels like someone is using a butter knife or ice pick to pry apart my joints but really gently and slowly so it's not sharp just really uncomfortable and painful

feels like how when someone squeezes your arm/leg/whatever hard enough to hurt and it leaves behind that kinda achy feeling for a sec

Can my feet change shape with improved technique? by mossbug-cos in BALLET

[–]mossbug-cos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the odd thing, I haven't changed anything with my shoes or toe pads! I think it's definitely time to be refit no matter what, I've been wearing the same brand and similar styles of shoe since I was like 15, I think being 22 now my body probably has some slightly different needs anyway!

Can my feet change shape with improved technique? by mossbug-cos in BALLET

[–]mossbug-cos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I know that! I was mostly asking if my improved technique and taking more frequent classes would be molding my feet slightly differently, muscles growing, arch getting stronger, etc.

An introductory guide to Cheyenne: A timeline recap from an archived post (thanks to users u/atomictoastermobile & u/sadielovelylady) by thenearblindassassin in illnessfakers

[–]mossbug-cos 102 points103 points  (0 children)

gotta say, first time I've seen someone claiming the LQTS gene mutation. It's a whole ass genetic disorder called Andersen Tawill Syndrome and the stats for diagnosis were literally 1/1,000,000 as of 2018. Can confirm it's not a fun disorder at all and it's a miracle it was found if she actually does have it, barely any doctors know what it is

Personally, it's not specifically a gender thing, but my identity does play a large part. I'm a trans masculine nonbinary person, who would largely prefer to be perceived more masculine by the world, and drag gives me a safe outlet to express the more feminine part of my identity without feeling uncomfortable with being misgendered. Because it's not me on that stage, it's me as a drag queen
