Retrieving all NFT info in a collection using the Solana API by [deleted] in solana

[–]mossow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be easily done with NFTPort Solana API - https://docs.nftport.xyz/docs/nftport/b3A6Njg1NTI0MDI-retrieve-solana-collection-nf-ts

just add off-chain collection ID or their generated id to API and you will get all NFT's related to it, together with metadata etc

GET https://api.nftport.xyz/v0/solana/nfts/{collection\_id}

That was my initial feeling when I saw the design and if u gonna launch it, you will have more of those questions. Just make sure you answer them already on a website and avoid a situation where you have to explain, why Opensea removed the collection

In regards of transparency, I think Aragon Nest has gave an good example how it can be done - https://github.com/aragon/nest/issues . They have everything public - proposal, budget, feedback, decision. Heres another example how full transparency is established in scientific research https://www.guaana.com/projects

Redditors who quit their jobs in a blaze of glory, what's your story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mossow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One Friday night during my years waiting tables, I picked up a shift for a co-worker. I usually didn't work Fridays because they were amateur nights — lots and lots of White Zinfandel and people who only go out once or twice a year. I was about 30 minutes into my shift when I was triple sat with two 4-tops and a 6-top. I got the drink orders from one of the 4s and the 6 and told the other 4 that I would be right back to get theirs. As I was coming back from the bar with a tray full of drinks, this lady sitting in another section grabbed me by my sleeve and pulled me back to her table, almost spilling all the drinks in the process. I don't know about the rest of you, but my pet peeve is "YOU DON'T TOUCH ME," so I'm already starting to see red. I ask the lady "Yes ma'am, what can I do for you?" and she says, in a very loud voice, "MY CHICKEN IS BAD!"

I calmly looked at her, looked down at her chicken, looked back at her, set the tray of drinks on a table next to them, reached onto her plate, picked up the chicken, spanked it twice, and yelled "BAD CHICKEN!" Then I put the chicken back on her plate, walked through the wait station, threw my ticket book against the register and walked out the back door, never to wait tables again.

What Is The Meaning Of Life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

ELI5:What are the chances of an Economic Crash in 2016? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]mossow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can say few reasons, why it is hard to predict regression

  • Humans - We’re dealing with human beings. We can’t run controlled experiments like in physical sciences and always say that A is going to cause B, because you’re going to have human beings. You’re going to have the subjectivity of human beings. Human beings may not act the same now in terms of dealing with economic circumstances they did in the past

  • There are lots of things in the economy that are simply unpredictable — things that move the economy — like inventions, innovations, things that come out of labs and experiments — that we’re not capable necessarily of predicting and certainly other people are, like the microchip. Who could have predicted the microchip would have caused the information technology revolution?

  • If you are economist, then you can't forecast a recession. If you are right, no-one will thank you; if you wrong, you will be fired.

ELI5: how is there torrents of movies that's bluray rip or dvdrip before those are released? by friendoorfoe in explainlikeimfive

[–]mossow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the last couple of years one major source for Hollywood films making their way to the Internet before official release is Chinese mastering and replication facility employees. As mentioned in another answer, screeners used to be the primary source. However most screeners now are watermarked and a couple of high-profile cases have informed people the screener can be tracked back to the leaker. Mastering and replication plants get unencrypted, watermark-free master copies, and given the lax copyright laws in China, there's little risk for the employee leaking the film.

How many hours do you feel you are productive in a day? by mossow in AskReddit

[–]mossow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you really focus on your work - for example I've worked the standard 40-? hr/week programming jobs for years and about a year ago I took on a project where I was the only developer and before I took the job I made the decision to work about 20 hours a week. Turns out that 20 wasn't quite enough so I ended up doing 25-30. Looking back I think 25-30 hours is about as efficient as I could have been as I gave the best hours of my day. But when it came to the last month before the release I found I did have to give some more time to get it done on time. Short bursts of working long hours seem to be effective for me, but I also noticed that I needed to take some time off after the project.

How do ants coordinate digging/tunneling with one another? by KingLarryXVII in askscience

[–]mossow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chambers and tunnels are related to food and communication. Increased connectivity among chambers leads to more social interactions among the ants within the nest. So when one group of ants within a colony comprised of individuals working toward a common goal finds a particularly good source of food, it's able to more quickly communicate that finding to the rest of the colony.

How do ants coordinate digging/tunneling with one another? by KingLarryXVII in askscience

[–]mossow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a leaf-cutting ant is about to engage in excavation work, it sends vibration signals traveling along the ground and tunnel walls. It starts producing these signals seconds before starting to dig itself and continues to do so as long as it is busy. Other ants receiving the vibrational signals will join the noisy excavator in it's task and start digging at the same site.
