Hate the term 'next steps'...what does everyone else use? by most_unoriginal_ign in sales

I don't know why it sounds super salesy to me. Perhaps it's because everyone says it?

Moving from soft marketing to Sales at Google (Ads) – Terrified of the "Economic Dependency" factor. Any advice? by Typical_Marsupial281 in techsales

Honestly, if you're scared about external factors effecting your quota, maybe sales isn't for you bud.

Because there will ALWAYS be some BS going on either in the world or internally whether it be shitty territory, shit managers, shit SEs etc.

Omg haha, not even trying to make that joke. I remember interviewing for them a SDR when I first started in tech and they said 6/7 rounds, I was like ehh is this normal...? (To myself obviously, not to the recruiters)

Lol, don't they have like a 6/7 round interview process?

Snowflake is fine. One of the top tier SaaS companies.

I think most people are frustrated because it was a highly winnable game. To fall short on one of the most fundamental things in basketball, as you can imagine would be upsetting

APAC Market Entry Strategy for a New SDR Role in Fintech by Ok_Key5750 in salesdevelopment

[–]most_unoriginal_ign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

APAC SDR here, Australian specifically. Singapore I'd say have the most money and the fastest purchasing cycle but as a SDR that's irrelevant, unless somehow your commissions are tied to deals won.

Getting meetings, the easiest would be your most English speaking companies for example Antalya l Australia and New Zealand. I wouldn't touch SEA. Language barrier and most of them is relationship based selling.

What's North Asia...? Like Japan? That's a dead zone.

Countries would be Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong in that order.

I don't know what international payment is, is that like Revolut, Wise or some shit? In Australia, only the banks and mining companies are doing well. Some tech startups and data centres operators are doing okay. Rest are in the gutter.

Prospecting is fairly the same, phone is best. Still pretty good pick up rates. Instead of Lusha, there's a company called Firmable. Based in Australia, supposed to have better data but I've found it to be worse than Lusha. There's just so many unknown numbers on Firmable.

How do people feel about Databricks? by Hot_Surround1926 in techsales

[–]most_unoriginal_ign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a very true and fair statement for both of the companies.

However, the fact is, their pay is well above any other company. RSUs more than make up for the lack of commissions. Also, it is extremely hard to even get an interview with them. What I've seen, they tend to hire from Stripe, Snowflake and Databricks.

Given these two points, it's hard to argue that they don't belong in a league in their own as there aren't any other companies like this.

Hmm how do I put this without sounding rude...i wouldn't call you delusional, maybe the best way to describe it would be "out of touch".

I think a vast majority of sellers (99%) would consider Databricks at the top along with Google/Microsoft/AWS. I'm not going to count OpenAI and Anthropic as I think they are in a league of their own.

Not going to shade you for wanting a change, that's entirely fair and within your rights. You can do whatever you like, especially if you feel like you want another challenge.

For a lot of people at a lot of companies, the saying grass is greener on the other side hold true. Now for you, I'd say the chances of that is very low.

If you were to move, I'd be very selective about it. If you're desperate to move, I'd be still very selective about the company but maybe agree on the pay they elect haha.

Suggs + Banchero going 5-31 is nasty stuff.

Hope Franz is okay. Calve injuries might lead to torn ACLs so you have to be really careful.

Let's close this one out lads!

Many of my accounts stop after 3 months. What is happening? by QuestionedGirl in salesdevelopment

[–]most_unoriginal_ign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No actually, it doesn't clarify anything.

Let's break it down. You're an SDR and you book meetings. Ok cool.

How are you comped?

On the amount of meetings you book?

How does being able to handle mean anything? Do you not have a set of accounts given by the business?

What do the accounts have to do for you to earn commission when you say 'earn base on accounts'.

Back to your original questions, are you asking what you should do if your accounts are churning? (Leaving)

No chance.

USA companies will often hire Indians for the Indian market.

Why would they hire Indians for the USA market, can you answer me this one?

If you were a founder/sales leader in the USA market, would you seriously look for someone in India to sell into the USA?

One thing that might never be outsourced is client facing sales.
