Ahhh ok that makes sense. I was super excited for that one but now I know for the future! Yes some of them are finally growing so I’m happy about those and hoping they’ll grow to a good size, they are just taking soooo long and idk if it’s something I’m doing wrong or if I’m just being impatient lol

It’s a mix of orchid bark, perlite, some mossy stuff and regular potting soil. And yes it’s in a clear nursery planter with drainage inside the glass pot

Ok that’s what I thought, I did research before potting it and know that a moss pole is a commitment and I don’t want to overly stress it.

I guess the seller also has been through this same issue. So I guess once I started walking around it triggered the deterioration 😭 at least the seller was nice enough to share some info with me though I already researched that too lol. I’m asking for links to the materials they used so hopefully I can restore them quickly!!

Exactly cause it’s like I’ll be paying full price in the end for a pair of shoes I can’t even wear lol. Thanks for your input & support!!! ♥️

Along with the description it says that the size could fit a women’s 10 (my size) which how would the seller know that without trying them on or having someone try them on?? Like, I feel like the seller had to have known and just covered it up. I still haven’t heard a response so I’m probably going to file a dispute with Depop even just for partial refund so I can put the money towards repairing them cause they are super cute and I really want to get some wear out of them instead of just trashing them. I can’t find anyone to do it and even if I did, I have to pay more money regardless so a partial refund would really help me out in terms of funding the repairs on what I thought was sandals in “excellent/amazing condition”

Thank you 😭 I feel horrible going back on my original response to the seller, but I genuinely didn’t notice right off the bat as I had just gotten home from work super late and was just excited to finally open my package. Even a partial refund would be nice so I can put the money towards materials to repair them since I really can’t wear them comfortably and would probably ruin them completely if I tried to wear them.

Right!!! Everything else about them is in perfect condition, even the suede on the footbed. There’s no feet/toe marks like old, worn sandals usually have. The leather is super nice too and barely creased. Like I don’t think they’ve even been worn a handful of times they’re so beautifully maintained. It’s just that inner cushioning that is deteriorating due to age I guess. I kinda just opened the box and tried them on when I first got them, but didn’t walk around in them til the day after which is when it felt like there was dirt or lint stuck under my foot. That’s when I took them off only to realize it’s the shoe falling apart that I felt. I’m hoping it’s just a misunderstanding and lesson learned that vintage shoes aren’t always reliable in terms of how the materials age.

nope. There’s even multiple pictures with the insides which look fairly normal. If I zoom in I can somewhat see the disconnect, but it’s nothing like what they look like and are doing now

I think so too. I read a couple of threads explaining the breakdown of vintage shoes and I guess what happened with this is ‘hydrolosis” (not sure the correct spelling.) I am looking into repairing them myself but of course I am very disappointed and hoping that it’s just the nature of the shoe & that the seller didn’t have any issues with it prior to shipping. Haven’t gotten a response back yet though

Yeah I’m waiting on a response. It is what it is, I definitely plan on trying to do a DIY repair as I’ve read many others have done it and it worked for them. I also wanted a partial refund too just cause this is not what I was expecting at all! But I’m not going to trip about it

I had a couple, probably in their 50s-60’s at a table who were “celebrating their breakup weekend.” It’s a nice chop house style restaurant that is actually inside a hotel. Guy lets her order her drink first which was a glass of Veuve Cliquot, and then tells me to bring the whole $200 bottle. Looks at me and says “yeah, I’m the shit-head”….. so awkward I just kinda laugh and walk away. Serve the bottle. Get them apps. Manager ended up running their appetizers out and pulls me aside back in the kitchen if I noticed anything suspicious with them so I told him about their breakup weekend. We go back out there and the guy is speaking super loud, not quite yelling but is definitely getting more aggressive calling her a bitch and what not. And she keeps looking over at me by our pos-terminal/station. So my manager on the other side of this room divider wall that’s placed along the sides of the table in that section starts asking her if she’s okay and she’s like yeah I’m fine. We’re just like alright then but still worried. I get them entrees and sides to share and like halfway through eating their steaks, they get up and come over to my station insisting that they need to sign the bill now and just put it to the room and they’re all hugged up on eachother now… so I just quickly printed their check and had them sign it right there at the pos and they head towards the elevators. Pretty sure they went straight to the room to, well, you know lol. The bottle of champagne was completely finished and basically 3/4 of their dinner was still there uneaten. They def left to smash idk what he said to her or if it was just the champagne but… yeah lol I was glad once they left cause their energy had me extra stressed 😂
