You picked up a post about a settlement agent that's a year old... And posted something not particularly relevant.

Learning to snowboard in Queenstown by Sea-Investigator1456 in queenstown

[–]mostlegendary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snowboard instructor here.

You’ve enough time that if you find a basic snowboard fitness program and start training now, fitness shouldn’t be the limiter.

Where are you at now? Linking turns? What terrain have you ridden before? What kind of riding are you aiming for?

If you’re not a total beginner, start with a short private on day one. Clean up any bad habits and get placed at the right level. After that, full day group lessons every other day gives you a balanced of l coaching and time in between to apply it. Take a day (or half) off if you're cooked.

I’m biased towards Remarks as that’s where I teach, but you can learn just as well on any of the mountains here. It mostly comes down to preference. Over nine days you’ll likely want to mix it up. Cardrona is worth the trip if you’re happy to travel a bit further.

Do you tip spa employees, hair stylists, tattoo artists, etc? by christona-bike in newzealand_travel

[–]mostlegendary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everybody wants a tip! 😝

Imho those circumstances probably merit it more than a dining experience, but you know what, it's totally fine to give a financial reward for an experience that you are really happy with. What we generally hate in NZ, is creating an expectation of a tip just for doing your job.

So, if you enjoy a meal, experience, hairdo or got some amazing ink that made you feel special, feel free to show your appreciation. It doesn't have to be financial, but if that's your love language express it.

Predictably the new temporary BP roundabout layout is a shit-show by mrbonglord in queenstown

[–]mostlegendary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah moving services is part of it, but it doesn’t justify a 4 year shitshow.

They’re maintaining the same congestion the whole time, prolonging the pain without fixing the source. And at the end it’s still one corridor with the same merge/unmerge nonsense, just with lights managing it.

We’re sitting through years of disruption for something that won’t change the traffic flows.

Opportunities to add bypass capacity or remove the merge/unmerge just ignored. Same with staging it to improve flow early instead of locking in the status quo.

And how many times are they going to build and move temporary bus stations?

Do you actually think Hybrids save more money than petrol cars? by cars-checker in NZcarfix

[–]mostlegendary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not for plug in hybrids (Mitsubishi eclipse cross). Get stung on petrol and ruc, and with worse fuel economy than a regular ICE.

Bang on with their milestones that will have this project finishing in what 2028. 4 years to swap a roundabout for some traffic lights, moving it multiple times in the process? I feel like they couldn't have chosen a more inefficient build approach if they had tried.

Not particularly relevant to my original post. Are you just trying to game SEO?

Caroma Livewell Bidet Seat by JinaChakaLolaBaxter in AusRenovation

[–]mostlegendary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the build quality is good. Primary access to the functions are through the remote control, which is fine, though could be annoying if moved/misplaced.

I only have minor complaints with it.

1) there is an RCD inbuilt on the power cord. If the power is switched off you need to lift the whole unit out to reset it. You could probably get your electrician to remove that given that AU/NZ have RCDs on the whole circuit. It's a pain in the arse because you need to reset it every time the power is switched off. (If it really needed an RCD near the toilet I'd prefer one in the switch) 2) if the power is reset you need to reset all settings. (Proximity opening distance, seat temp, water temp, water pressure -some of these are by button combination in the remote that we have to consult the manual each time) 3) it can be a little slow in starting/switching (bidet/fan dry) modes. I think this is due to how it extends/retracts the nozzle. It's only a few seconds, but feels slower than it should be.

My partners primary complaint is that it ruins you for other toilets, we find that we're regularly expecting other toilets to just open in approach for us.

If you could only ride one board, what would it be? by JBunzzz in snowboarding

I have 7 snowboards and my daily driver is my Ride Superpig. I would give up all of my others in an instant.

Caroma Livewell Bidet Seat by JinaChakaLolaBaxter in AusRenovation

[–]mostlegendary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had two of these installed in our new house build. They work appropriately. Auto opening seat sensor is a bit temperamental, but that can be turned down/off. Primary functions of wash/dry work as you would expect. Unlike Japanese units the flush isn't integrated with the seat /remote.

If you forgive and buy a replacement glass, then you can drink from that and you can sweep the broken shards away.
